Well first of all is it coming from the fuel line for sure? Have you found a bad spot where it is leaking?

Not till you inspect it and see where it is leaking. Could just be a bad rubber hose or clamp.

If the steel line is "rotten" you will have to repalce any sections that need it, this is not normally a problem so suspect you live in a salty area, sea or road salt will eat automobiles if you don't rinse them off UNDERNEATH often during salty spreading times.

If the truck is running fine ,I would lean more towards your fuel tank it may have rusted out on you.

We also own a 2005 chevrolet impala with strong gas fumes, inside of the car driving or just idling..also fumes are strong when the car is just idlin. Took it to the mechanic and put the car on the rack,...

I would have someone check under the front of car while engine was running. Maybe then a gas leak could be spotted. Did he check the charcoal canister-it's a gas vapor collector from the gas tank, and maybe located at front of car. If the canister is full and not working to purge the canister and send the collected fuel and vapors into the engine, it might be what you are smelling.

In the test of computer the cod is p0455(system -large leak

Technical Description

Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak)
What does that mean? This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel systemmag-glass_10x10.gif. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

Okay, so my 2002 Nissan Sentra smells like gas whenever I turn the heater/air conditioner on and is leaking a large amount of fluid from somewhere in the front right area of the car. 110,000 miles on it...

Your right something is very wrong & it is afire hazard. The fuel system is under high pressure so it may be a small leak (just in the wrong spot -AC) get that fixed. usually just fuel lines. Good luck........but don't drive it until repaired

MY CAPRICE IS BURNING GAS LIKE CRAZY AND THERE MUST BE A LEAK BECAUSE EVERY TIME I FEEL UP I CAN SMELL GAS BUT THERE'S NO SPOT ON THE GROUND IN MY DRIVE WAY .HOW CAN I DETECT WERE THE LEAK IS

The gas is most likely leaking out of the top of the tank from the fuel pump. The gasket tends to go bad in the earlier caprices. Hope this helps!

2007 Town & Country smelling gas inside the van

if its that bad don't run it, sounds like bad leak, best to have someone chk. it out. has it been doing this ever sence you bought it? if it has, call the place you bought it at and have them send someone over to look at it., BUT BY NO MEANS DRIVE IT TO THEM. its a potential fire hazard. I know you will smell a hint of gas when you first fill it up, but will usely go's away in short amount of time. fires will start from the fumes and not the liquid. If its that bad you can smell it on your cloths, Its bad.If this is scaring you I'am sorry this just sounds like something that can't be icnored. GET IT CHK.

Engine light on, codes PO455 and PO411 pulled.

P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected and P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Large Leak). These 2 particular codes are sometimes inter-related.

With a p0455, the most common repair is to:
  • Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
  • Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
  • Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary
Let me know if you have anymore questions!

hey
Have you had done or done any electrical work lately? It would appear that yes, either the daytime running light relay, or an auto-shut off relay is confused and it energizing when it is not supposed to.
i suggest to Take it to the dealer, they will know what to do.
other thing that can be possible is:electrial schematics and trace the control system for the lights. Most likely, if you have done electrial work, then it is a crossed wire. If not, then either a bad relay, or bad computer module is at fault
