On a 2006 chevrolet silverado 1500, where is the back brake light fuse?

Stop Lamps
The STOP LP 25-amp fuse in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both the STOP 15-amp fuse and the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) 10-amp fuse in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block, and to the turn signal/hazard module. The turn signal/hazard module then supplies voltage to both of the trailer rear turn/stop lamp supply voltage circuits. The voltage from the CHMSL 10-amp fuse is to the CHMSL and the trailer jumper harness. The voltage from the STOP 15-amp fuse is to the stop lamps, throttle actuator control (TAC) module, and the cruise control.

2005 Silverado brake lights on tail not working, cruise out , bulbs and fuses ok

Brake light switch? The cruise and brake lights problems are likely related. The cruise control cuts out when you press on the brakes. I had a van where the cruse wouldn't engage. Then someone pointed out my brake lights were always on. It was the switch.

Which fuse number is for the rear brake lights

The HZDL fuse in the console fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stoplamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both left and right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The CHMSL is grounded at G301. The left stop lamp is grounded at G401 and the right stop lamp is grounded at G402.

Do you know what a stop lamp switch is ? If so I would check it with a DVOM digital volt ohm meter , after you check fuse .

Brake lights went out so I changed a blown fuse, now the brake lights wont shut off,so I replaced the brake switch at the pedal and still have the same issue, lights wont go off.

Which fuse did you replace ? The one in the under hood fuse box or one of the two in the I/P fuse box . Do the CHMSL - center high mount stop lamps work correctly ? Here is a description how they work .

The STOP LP 25 A fuse in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both the STOP 15 A fuse and the CHMSL 10 A fuse in the I/P fuse block, and to the turn signal/hazard module. Does yours have trailer light hook up ? If so check trailer wiring connector for corrosion . Also check the turn signal / hazard module .
