Question about 2000 Volvo S40

1 Answer

My passenger headlight is out( it goes in an out)...all the fuses are ok and it is not the bulb, replaced with new(even though the old one was not burnt out. The only thing that is missing is the rubber cap for the brights side on the passenger side...could that have anything to do with it? Could moisture make the light come in and out? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The connection the light is either loose or there is a lock that keeps the wire connector lock that keeps it plugged into the light missing or not locking. The only other thing is if there is a short in the wiring to the light. Start your engine and be careful not to get around the fan, then wiggle the wires to the light you are having problems with. See if you can get them it to come off and on. See if it is in the connector or in the wires. Could also be bad connection where the light bulb plugs in.

Front passenger head light fails even with new bulb on 1995 nissan sentra

This is likely caused by using the wrong bulb.

You can certainly purchase after market bulbs of more modern technology that provide much better illumination than the manufacturer recommended brand. HOWEVER, those bulbs having a matching part number to what is recommended does NOT mean it is what you should necessarily use. The reason is the wattage. Higher wattage produces more heat.
Try a bulb of a lower wattage rating. I recommend going no higher than 20 watts beyond your original rating, do not allow the bulb glass to get dirty while installing nor touch with your bare fingers, and inspect your ground connections to the headlight assembly for any breakage, corrosion or looseness. Good luck!

Passenger side headlight only works on high beam. Have replaced bulb, still no low beam

If you put it in; did you touch the bulb with your fingers? If so, I've seen bulbs pop as soon as they're put in. The oil from your skin leaves a residue, and the heat goes to it, and blows the bulb. wear jersey or latex gloves when you re-install new bulb. If it still doesn't work, replace headlight bulb socket

NO NO! Just reach in with hood open and turn the plastic ring that holds bulb and harness in. Then you can just pull it out and replace it.

Passenger side low beam headlight on a 2002 nissan altima

when you got the spark chances are you shorted the receptacle for the bulb on the low side you should check the fuse for this . the drivers side low beam worked before so i would say you blew the fuse. on the passenger side check for broken ,frayed ,or loose wires in the light harness and the plugs them selves chances are you will find a short in them. please rate this solution
