Question about 1995 Mazda MX-5

I'm trying to find out where the crank sensor on a 95 mazda miata is.

    Oh its cool i found out that 95 and new started calling it a cam position sensor. Thank you

    I looked in my books and show no Crank Sensor for the 95 Mazda Miata.

Depending on the engine, it will either be at the back (nearest to the firewall) of the intake camshaft (B6ZE) or the exhaust camshaft (BP engines)

You should see some wiring going to it as well as the coil packs and a couple of sensors for coolant temperature below it

Is it possible for a Cam Sensor and a Crank Sensor to fail at the same time (Mazda Miata 1999)?


anything is possible when it invovles cars some engines have both sensors
at rear of engine it is possible for unit to fail could bee wiring issues later engines had seperate sensors on front of eng highly unlikly in this instance they wood both fail together

2001 mazda mx5 miata won,t crank. replaced crank, cam, and knock sensors. flashing engine light and missing.


SOUND LIKE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR OFF.TOO MUCH GAP FROM CRANKSENSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY PULSE WHEEL.

No spark at plugs


Is there power to the power packs. If not trouble shoot backward from there. Check the plugs on your: crank angle sensor, the cam sensor and the clutch switch. Another problem could be fuel, if the brain doesn't sense the flow of fuel it won't send a spark to the power packs.

no module as such , if your having starting problems , replace crank shaft sensor [thats the norm ]

you have to remove the exhaust manifold insulator. to get to the 02 sensor.

You need to check to see if you have signal from the crank and camshaft sensors. However, the first rule of thumb is to check all your fuses.
