Question about 1966 Ford Mustang

My mustang seems to only be running on 4

My 67 mustang seems to only be running on 4 cylinders. This happened all of a sudden. Do you think it's a blown head gasket? I've checked the wires and changed out the spark plugs. The problem seems to be on the two back cylinders.

My 2007 mustang convertable top sometimes doesn't work, push the swith to raise and it makes a little click noise by the cylinders but won't rais.

This is similar to a solution I offered another member earlier. If the pump runs at all, but the top won't move, then you most likely have lost some of all of the hydraulic fluid. The most likely source of the leak is one or both bad lift cylinders. If this has happened, the pump is probably screwed now, too. Your best bet is to plan on replacing the pump, both lift cylinders, and all the lines. If you try to save a few bucks by swapping out just the cylinders (for example), you will probably be back under the seat to replace the rest of the system in short order. From my own (unpleasant) experience, plan on doing it right the first time, and you won't have to do it twice.

04 mustang 6 cyl. wont crank, think its the fuel relay switch or punp. the relay switch makes a buzzing when tapped on ?

How old is your battery? if it is 8 years old, I'm betting on the battery being dead. They can die rather suddenly, has happened to me twice. Battery will have enough power to run lights and such, but not crank the engine/power up the FI system. Otherwise, could be the relay.

2004 mustang won't start because of anti theft system

Did you check the battery of the car (maybe loose cable)? but if it just happen suddenly, it might be your altenator that wasn't charging your battery. I think once there's enough power gone through the car then your anti-theft system should work as normal again.

2000 ford mustang thetf light flashing not allowing car to start. Checked all fuses. Alarm relay maybe?

There is a small ring around your ignition cylinder. There are 3 wires that run from it. It is some kind of sensor for the Theft or PATS key. If you use your tilt a lot, it seems to have a "undesirable" effect on the small wires...My Mustang Cobra did this one day. Had a great mechanic friend come over to the house...He just moved the column (tilted it about midway). Cranked right up!!! It still does it occasionaly, but all I have to do is move the tilt.

2004 Mustang GT barely idles and wants to stall when in gear.

have someone check car for history codes,if you have a autozone they do it for free, but it could be as simple as the computer needs to readjust it's self from the difference in sea level from ny to fla. the map sensor is what keeps this in check

Look at the wire and plug to cylinder 2, for cracks or damage, if nothing is found run a compression test need 100psi min, and then check the injector, you need to meshure resistance with a multimeter, and compare to other injectors something like 12 to 15 ohms would be good i think.

1993 ford mustang 4 cyl 8 plugs run fine then all of sudden it starts missing loses power i pull to side of the road and engine is missing like dead cylinder turn off switch recrank motor and it runs fine...

The only real way to pinpoint this is a plug in diagnostic at a garage.
It could be a fueling issue - clogged fuel filter, an ECU program fault, injector fault,or any one of several sensors giving bad information.

Try disconnecting all sensor connectors to their wiring - to see if it is a slight corrosion problem at a sensor - this is a cheap fix if it is.

A diagnostic will show all readings from sensors - so one going out of limit is easy to spot.

How do I change an Ignition on a 1988 Ford Mustang GT Automatic Transmission

Not exactly sure when Ford changed the style. But I think it is this one. First of all do you have the key thet fits the lock cylinder you are changing? If so, put the key in and turn it to the run position. If this is the style I'm thinking about there will be a small hole in the column cover under the lock cylinder. A small allen wrench works fine. Push in with allen wrench and at the same time pull out on lock cylinder. (you may have to turn key alittle one way or the other to release pin.) If you don't have the key for this lock cylinder it will be EXTREMELY difficult to remove. Hope this is helpful .
