I understand that honda had lots of problem with some transmissions ... ( like you said) very unusual for honda ... a friends 2002 just went bad and we found that honda extended the warranty on some models to 109 thousand miles .. but after that they tell me you are on your own .. i would be very dissipointed if honda doesnt fix this ongoing problem .. we decided to try the transmission flush system .. thats where they run a solvent thruout the transmission and torque converter .. that would clean out any cooked on debree that sometimes cloggs things .. but a trusted mechanic said that it didnt work for long with this problem since things are coming apart inside .. the only option was to rebuild the tranny .. sad
make sure you check out any rebuilders with BBB .. there is a lot of bad reputations out there .. try to find one that gives a lifetime warranty if you are going to keep the car ..
Not much, unless the auto shop who did the work on the trans has a warranty.
