What is the requirement when you install a new transmission on a 2004 Ford Taurus

Since this is out of warranty your are probably not getting it free. There is s required change of fluid and filter after so many miles. You would need t check your owners manual or Dealer.

How often to change tranmission fluid on a 2002 lincoln ls

Hi Gary,

There is a small dilema here. The Owner's Manual for your Lincoln says to refer to the Maintenance schedule to find the proper interval for replacing your transmission fluid. Here is where the problem arises: The Maintenance schedule published for your vehicle says to replace the transmission fluid at 30,000 mile intervals for several transmission models. Then it "excepts" the models that are not lsted by transmission model number in the preceeding text - yours is not listed.

Then, when I go to the service manual and search by your vehicle (2000 Lincoln LS) it says to replace the transmission fluid at 30,000 mile intervals without any exceptions.

Here is what I recommend to my customers:

CHECK the fluid every 30,000 miles and REPLACE the fluid and filter every 60,000 miles. I have found that this works for almost every make and model out there. I have several customers with over 300,000 miles on their cars that have never had transmission overhauls.

Have a 02 ford escort zx2, with 212k miles, whats are some simple things i can do that will help keep it in good shape

Routine maintenance is all that is required.
All the required services are outlined in the owner's manual and at what mileage they should be done. Here are the high lights
Change the oil every 3,000 miles, this is the single most important thing to keep the car running well for 10's of thousands of trouble free miles.
If it is an automatic transmission change the fluid and filter every 60,000 miles minimum.
Flush the cooling system every 100,000 miles, use only long life coolant.
These are additional services that greatly extend the life of the expensive components.
A turkey baster works well for these
Flush the brake fluid and power steering fluid resovoirs every 30,000 miles

What maintenance on the trani should be done, I'm at 36k miles

None. Check fluid levels to make sure there has not been a loss of fluid, but there should be no need for maintenance at that low miles.
If it is an automatic, I would change ATF around 90,000 miles.
A manual transmission is basically good for life, as long as the level is good.

What is most important maintenanace service at 30,000 miles for 2006 Jeep GC HEMI V8? is it spark plugs? Any suggestions?

the most important (in my opinion) is changing the transmission fluid( transmissions for those cost about $4,000.00 to replace) its supposed to be changed every 30,000 miles. ( spark plugs can last up to 100,000 miles before needing replaced.)

Does an 89 F250 gas engine have a computer?

this engine is fuel injected so yes it has a computer or ECU as we call it, they are very trouble free under 100,000 miles, only real complaint was rough idle on manual trans models, no fix, I worked for a Ford dealer for 20 years so i have a large experience base on this truck, worked on hundreds of them.
