Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
I have a 96 grand am with the quad 4 engine and manual transmission. About 9 months ago the air compressor locked up and the car would not turn over fast enough to crank. I did not know at the time that the compressor was the problem until after I wore the starter out.I have now replaced the starter and took the belt off the engine to see if it would crank. It now cranks over fast enough to start but it still wont crank up. Also while trying to diagnose the initial problem I took off the coil packs to get to my spark plugs.
