Nothing you can really do. This is such a common thing its ridiculous. for a company to recall it has to happen to a lot of people. Otherwise it isn't worth the "money" of course you should have expected this from a truck that is mostly built in mexico.
Thanks,
Lee

2005 f150 brake pedal moves about 2 inches from side to side

Check up at the mounting bolt under the dash. It sounds like the bolt has come loose. Just follow the brake pedal lever upwards and you will find the mount. Some of the trucks had electrically adjustable pedals. If yours has this feature, it sounds like the adjustment mechanism is in pieces.

recall...........................................
  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Recall for 2002 DODGE CARAVAN
    • Recall Announced MARCH 13 2006
    • NHTSA Reference #06E022000
    • Number Affected 7,440
Summary: Certain aftermarket brake hydraulic master cylinders sold as replacement brake cylinders for certain Ford, DaimlerChrysler, and Jeep passenger vehicles. These brake cylinders were sold under the brand names of Napa, raybestos, aimco, ac delco, Carquest, bendix, and wagner. Only products that were manufactured from July 27, 2005 through January 17, 2006 (date codes 0529 through 0602) are subject to this recall. When subject to very cold temperatures, an internal seal in the master cylinder could lose flexibility and may cause brake fluid to leak.
Consequence: Loss of brake fluid can lead to a decrease in brake line pressure and an increase in stopping distance, which can result in a vehicle crash.
Fix: Affinia (brake parts, Inc.) will replace the subject brake hydraulic master cylinders free of charge. The recall began on March 20, 2006. Owners can contact affina group customer service at 1-800-323-0354.
For detailed information & supporting documents, see the official NHTSA page concerning recall #06E022000 »

if you talking brakes not clutch. you can pump the brakes all day long and they don't build pressure and you not losing fluids the master is out. now if you pump them up and they are rock hard your hydrabooster is out.now if your mechanically incline you can order a master cylinder rebuild kit for like 20-30 bucks which is basically orings from local parts store and only tools you need are snapring pliers. or you can change the master ,bench bleed it first then bleed out the rr,lr,rf,lf in that order.hope i help.all under 100 bucks

2005 Dodge Caravan . Brake lights stay on !

Try pulling back on the brake pedal if lights go off then either switch adjustment or the brake booster is allowing the pedal to drop down if it's running (vacuum) or brake pedal mechanism is binding.

Shifter is locked up

try the brakelight switch or the neutral safety switch this will keep the car from shifting into gear because it does not register that the brake pedal is depressed.

No Brake Lights?!?

There is brake light switch located under the dash. It is inserted in a metal bracket that is a part of the brake pedal assembly. When you depress the brake pedal the pedal arm moves away from the brake switch allowing a spring loaded plunger to move out of the switch. As the plunger moves out of the switch a set of contacts close in the switch and turn the brake lights on.

You stated the 10amp under hood brake light fuse is good so check to see if you have power on the "orange" wire at the brake switch with pedal all the way up. Then press the pedal down and you should have power on the " light blue" wire going out of the switch.

We will start there, let me know what you find.

Brake lights on GMC truck do not work replaced fuses & bulbs

ther is a switch called a brake lifgt switch that has a pin that is moved by your boot brake pedal arm.
the way it works is: when you press on the brake the brake pedal moves down and the spring in the switch pushes out closing the contacts to your brake lights the switch is located high up under the driver's side of the underside of the dash near or, on the brake pedal support replace or, adjust this switch

2005 dodge ram 4x4 brake light turn on at start up with no one pushing on the pedal. no code shown on reader

there is a brake light switch above the brake pedal. It may need to be adjusted so that it actuates the brake lights when it is fully depressed.
