The idea of the switch is run on vacuum and is not making contact with the switch it self either worn contacts in the switch itself **** as an obstruction as well or the vent door is stuck in just that position either behind the glove box or the ash tray are the vacuum lines one of them may be pinched off or the door needs a bit of help until you can free it up

I found my problem in the line from the black ball mounted to the bottom of the hood. The vacuum line was dry-rotted. replaced the section of hose from that to the Y adapter & works just fine now.

Look under your dash right beside driver side bottom vents You will see like a switch it will have a small rod attached to it. Now while watching this switch have someone or do it your self and see when you change it from floor to dash vent does this switch move the rod up or down I forget which way but see if that is working. That works to close off the vents.

I assume your heater setting is electric control, if so either your defrost and floor heat switch failed or wire problem. For the air not hot, check the heat control valve on the top of the hose it should be in front of the firewall. I don't know your car is using mechanic valve or electric control valve. Anyway check there first. Good luck.

No floor heat 2004 Blazer

Usually a sign the blend door is not working under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the vents and the heater core.

The heater core is going bad in my blazer, but it still blows hot air. When I turn the control to switch the heat from vent to defrost or floor, it still blows out of the vent. How do I fix this?

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A HEATER CORE IF CORE IS GOING OUT IT WILL LEAK THATSOUNDS LIKE AN ACTUATOR ACTING UP OR VACCUUM LINE LEAK BEHIND DASH

Is it your ventilation not switching, or your blower motor not blowing air?

Heater control 98 chevy s10 blazer

These trucks have a problem where moisture builds up in the heater box then freezes. When this freezes and you change your heater settings it breaks the shaft for the blend door. If this is what happened you should be able to look under the dash above and to the right of the gas pedal and you will see two vaccuum accuators one of them you should be able to wiggle around the linkage if it is broke. To fix this you need to remove the entire dash to get the heater box out which involves discharging the AC and draining the coolant because the heater core and evaporator come out. Please rate.
