Hi I got a town & country 2006 When the A/C is on it blows nice cold air the after 30 sec to a min it start to blowing hot air. Thank You for your help. John"

First thing to check is the level of the Freon in the system. Probably has 134a in it. Open the hood and look for the air conditioner compressor. When you find it turn on the engine and look at it again to see what parts are turning. Then go turn on the Air conditioner and you should hear the compressor kick on, look at it again to see what new parts are turning and then wait to see what changes when the air gets warm. This is an indication that there is not enough 134a in the system and when the pressure drops on the low side of the compressor it shuts off.

I have a 2001 Ford Mustang V6, the ac is blowing warm air. We checked the refrigerant and it is full. The ac compressor will kick on for a few seconds and then kick off. Why is the compressor not staying...

it's either low (in spite of your readings) or your a/c clutch is not working correctly or you have too big an air gap in the clutch.
First, just disconnect the 2 pin connector from the a/c pressure cycling swithc and jumper the 2 pins with a wire to force the clutch to stay engaged. See if it blows cold then, and stays engaged. You can run this way for about 15 minutes before you have to pull the plug.
report reulsts.

Air conditioning is not cold

Probably the refrigerant fluid pressure is too low. You can get an inexpensive (about $20) R-134a recharge kit with pressure gauge from a discount store (Wal-mart) or auto parts store. Follow the instructions. It's worthwhile to try recharging to see if the a/c system will hold a charge, before you spend more money on expensive diagnostics and repairs. Also, you should try to determine whether the A/C compressor is coming on. If it is working you should be able to hear it engaging. Many A/C compressors are designed to not engage if the fluid pressure is too low, so make sure that the pressure on your recharge gauge is at the recommended level. Possibly the compressor fuse may have blown out, so check the compressor fuse in the fusebox under the hood. If the fuse is ok, and the compressor does not come one even after you have recharged the system, this tells you there might be a problem with the compressor. Another possibility is that the A/C switch has gone bad. You will need to access it with a voltmeter to test it. What you hear behind the glove box is the evaporator. Some low-level noise is normal.

99 Toyota Tacoma a/c reads high pressure on low pressure side

Does the compressor run?
Low side could be high without a running compressor.

A running compressor?
The expansion valve itself is about $50 and bolts in.
You will have to remove the 134a gas before installing a replacement expansion valve and vacuum the system before recharging.

On my 1995 Dodge Ram When I turn the A/C On it dosent seem to kick in and get cold just warm air?

In most cases, the problem is the system is low on refrigerant. The AC compressor requires a minimum of 20psi of refrigerant to turn on. There are refill kits available at the auto parts stores. If doing this yourself, select a kit that includes compressor oil, and a refill hose.

  1. Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH
  2. Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
  3. Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
  4. Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
  5. Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
  6. You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
  7. Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck
  8. If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective
Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

2003 dodge grand caravan ac recharge

you should be adding the 134a to the system the low pressure switch is doing its job by not allowing the compressor to kick on, it wont kick on until there is enough 134a in the system to be above the preset pressure for the low pressure switch.

97 Olds Aurora AC blowing warm air a day after recharging system

Several- The system should hold freon for years without leaking. There are pressure switches and they cut off the compressor with an undercharge and an overcharge. You need guages to measure the charge. There are testers the A/C shops have called "sniffers" which can detect a leak. If you have no leak then you need a technician to add or remove freon to get the concentration right. Or you need guages.

1999 volkswagen beetle , a/c blow a little air on low speed when changed to higher speed compressor kicks off and vent fan only have checked fuses they are fine any help

Your a/c gas (134a) is too low, there is a safety feature for the a/c compressor to "kick off" if that gas (134a) is too low thus saving your a/c compressor from seizing up. Have a garage check to see how much is in the a/c system they can easily recharge the system for you. Keep in mind this is the simplest fix and most common problem from what you described.
