SOURCE: 2004 Volvo S60 gets stuck
Must be the same as my 2005 V70. Do the brake lights function? If not it's probably a microswitch and /or solenoid needs changing somewhere gearshift mechanism. Mine let me downn yesterday but everything points to this.

usually the cabin air filter will come with directions on were its located and how to pull it out. If not then its usually behind your glove box or on the passanger side under the cowl.

Sometimes when is flashes or stays on for a short time you may have a vacuum leak. Take a peek and ensure your intake is connected as well as all hoses. the next step which can easily be the first is you need to have the vehicle scanned so you know what code is showing. This is only way to isolate the issue and ensure we are moving in the right direction. Usually auto parts stores will scan for free and then you know whats up.
