Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
A few seconds after the third beep the car will competley die. It's as though the battery has been disconnected. I do hear a clicking sound that seems to come from behind the I.P. and the dome lights will blink in time with the clicking. After it dies I restart the engine by slightly loosening the negative cable on the Batt. and wiggling it back and forth. Then everything comes right back on. The trip ODO and the clock always reset. Have replaced the coils, starter relay, and battery cables to no avail. Sometimes the negative cable is pretty warm when I loosen it, as though there was a heavy draw on it. Please help, can't seem to fix this.
Have you checked your ground wires under your battery? also possible that your alternator is not putting out enough. check ground cable from battery to alternator. see if that is warm as well if your larger cables have corrosion built up in them this will cause your concern as well. does your immobilizer little key and car light flash at you?do you have a remote key does it flip partially closed when you start the car? that could cause it to think it is being stolen.
