Question about 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada

1999 oldsmobile bravada

It would turn but wouldnt stay cranked. had the alternater checked and it was reading 14. few days later, after being parked, it did the same thing. I have had several "mechanics" check on this and no solutions. I have been told it may be fuel injectors, sensors...i dk.I need help! Been 3 wks~!

I would get fuel pump checked also look for a better mechanic, are they actualy diag truck?? you need better help

I have 2000 Oldsmobie Bravada that spits and sputters every time I hit the gas. I've had an induction, transmission flush, tune up (all new wires and spark plugs), new EGR valve, new throttle position...

I went through this problem, and did everything you did, even the SeaFoam. Turns out, the new distributor caps I bought were defective. I switched it out to another brand, worked for a day and then sputtered again. I read somewhere that (FOR THIS VEHICLE) aftermarket caps and rotors aren't manufactured correctly, causing arcing. Switched the cap and rotor to AC Delco brand, and all ran good, going on 1 year now with no problems.

try pullling the fuse out and then replacing it after a few minutes

I just replaced battery and alternater but the battery died hile driving and once i jump the car it ill run for thirty seconds then die.

you've had the misfortune of getting a bad rebuilt alternator-sorry-they should give you another one -I hope its not hard to replace-Denny

Have your CV boots and half shafts checked. If these are cracked, they will dry out and cause a lot of noise when turning. Also check your swaybar links, these cause a lot of noise also, but not only while turning.

when running at battery, voltage should be at least 14.1 to 14.7 with all assesories off. check the wire from alternator to battery. if all is fine. get the alt. checked again it may be a bad diode in alternator. when engine is off at battery should be at least 12.6 or better.

Our truck worked fine then next morning it wouldnt turn over Just click We have replaced the starter. Replaced the park neutral switch. ignition switch and wires test fine. Crank fuse is fine. ...

you have a earth problem/neg on battery check the battery wires i suspect a dirty connection.get that starter checked again and test the most common problem[ THE BATTERY].adrian,,,,

1999 olds bravada cranks but won't start

There are a few things to check.
1) When you turn the key to the run position (not start) do you here the fuel pump humming for 2 to 5 seconds?

2) When you remove a spark plug wire and crank the engine over, do you get spark snapping from that plug wire. (Use a screw driver in the end of the spark plug wire and hold close to engine block, 1/4 inch, have someone try to start the engine)

This last one you will only have to do if the first two check OK. If you do not have a "noid" light, you will have to borrow or purchase one.

3) Disconnect the injector harness from one of the injectors and install a "noid" light. Crank the engine over, do you get a pulse.

Let me know what you find before you spend any money.

Odometer issue and not turning over

This seems to be a faulty ground. Start looking in places exposed to the weather. Sometimes you can find a bad ground by checking for warmth at the connection. Be sure everything is turned on. Frankster016
