I have a 1998 Explorer XLS that is not throwing a/c through the front vents, it only throws through the dash and rear vents. What can it be?
Can you tell me where are the o called vacuum hoses someone told me to check?
I had a 1998 explorer ltd. The door in the airbox broke. this door changes the direction of airflow. On the airbox, behind the console you can see the pivot point. see if the door moves. I had to drill a hole in the box and hook a wire(coat hanger) up to open and close the door (driving from ny to chicago in the winter, i needed defroster and heat). Fortunately the dealer replaced the whole box for me under warranty, there was a service tip out in 99 or 2000 about this. doubt it's a vacuum hose. you need to remove the dash to get the box out. good luck
