Question about 1999 Toyota Sienna

When should you replace timing belt on Toyota Sienna van? It's a 1999 model with 210,000 kms on it and I need a new water pump. Should I replace the timing belt at the same time?

Do it at 90,000. Don't wait until it breaks. I did my at 90 and the repair shop said it was very warn and good that i came in when i did. Is it worth 20,000 or 30,000 miles for a boken timing belt , no. Also replace yr water pump and other belts at the same time. Belts are cheap and they have to remove water pump to get to the timing belt.
Hope this is helpful to someone.

Somewhere between 90,000 mil;es and 120,000 miles you should do your timing belt. But first make sure you do not have a timg chain. If you have a timing chain, you never have to change it at all.

Its a good idea to replace timing belt and water pump at the same time, if the pump is mounted behind the belt, related to the costs.
The belt itself may not be that expensive, but its important to replace the timing belt before its failure.
FYI, Recomended Timing Belt Replacement Interval on Toyota Sienna is 90,000 miles.

How i change water pump in a toyota siena

Very involved job, the water pump is driven by the timing belt, you have to take off the whole front of the motor. Recommend you change timing belt and pulleys too, recommended interval is 60,000 miles. Several good videos on youtube cover the process.

Scheduled Maintenance Services, for most Cars, has to be done at 30K, 60K, and 90K. Toyota recommend to replace the timing belt at 90K Service.
If you wait, one of two things could happen: Nothing, or the belt could break and you would be out thousands to repair the engine instead of a $400 hundred to replace just the belt. If it breaks, there will be damage done to the valves and various other internal components, which will not covered under warranty. The problem is that the Dealer would charge you between $700-$800 because they would also replace the water pump at the same time. Or you can buy the timing belt and change it by your self. To do so, you nee the Haynes Repair Manual specific for your car, or another equivalent manual.
To be safe, have the timing belt changed before the 95k mile mark ...... AND have the water pump replaced with a NEW one.
