09 suzuki forenza stereo plays but the buttons do not light up
I purchased this car 15 months ago, now the stereo plays but no lights for the stereo controls. When the car sits over night the battery goes dead. I pulled the radio fuse and the battery doesn't go dead over night.
But now I have no stereo. Went to the dealership thay said the warranties is 36 months or 36k. I have 41k so I get no service.

I don't know for sure but some cars have a "DOME OVERRIDE" button usually somewhere the light switch on the dash. Not seeing your car the dome covers mostly require only slight pressure on either of the longer sides to remove, press against the side and at the same time pull downward.
answers.edmunds.com > Edmunds Answers Sep 15, 2008 - every so often it will if i hit the right bump ... I'd guess that this is a problem in the trunk itself, with the switch that activates the light. Press up and .
i had this same problem a few months ago when i replaced the battery. I googled a list of codes for the 04 suzuki forenza and printed off the entire list. Tried each code & the 10th code worked and radio has been playing since then
New Stereo yes yours is dead but you can get a new stereo anywhere (Best Buy , Radio Shack, Auto Zone,Crutch Field,Ebay, etc.) a little advice if your not to inclined on cable instalation Crutchfield has all the wireing harness for the installation to go plug and play so you dont guestamate things i think Best Buy does aswell
You should probably start by changing the bulbs. No... they didn't both burn out at once. You might have driven a month with only one, and didn't notice untill the second one went. Just check in the socket with a test light. If you have power, you should have lights. If you don't have power, your switch isn't as good as you thought, or you checked the wrong fuse.
Sounds like an intermittend problem. Once the engine light comes on, the computor stores a code in it and can be retrieved whether the light is on or not, called a pending code, I have done it plenty of times.I would take the car back, or to another dealer and tell them to hook up a code scanner to it.It's under warranty, they should do further testing.
Once the warranty runs out, you are on your own, you pay for what ever is wrong, and can be expensive.
