98 toyota tacoma abs problem

The abs light come on just after start up so i think that it would be a wheel sensor problem. i checked the the sensors with a meter and the front right is reading 1 k ohms and the front left is reading 1.5k ohms. so i was wondering if anyone know the risistance for the front and rear wheel sensors. also if theres a way to get the codes for ABS with out a ABS reader.

The ABS and air bags work together on startup untill the lights go out, this is OK.
If the light stays on then you may want
to get checked out.

Toyota cavalier 1996 the abs light, how?

Toyota cavalier??? Chevy tacoma???
You might have a wheel sensor issue (part of the wheel bearing assembly) It tell the abs computer the wheel speed, and if one is bad, it will error the abs, and turn the light on. You can get this checked with an abs scanner hooked up, or ohm out all of your speed sensors with a meter.

My toyota tacoma's abs light has been on for the last two weeks. I topped the brake fluid , what else can I do?

Wheel speed/abs sensors need to be checked as well as the ABS pump. Basically a repair facility can run a computer diagnostic routine to test the ABS system specifically. Taking your truck to an auto parts store for a quick scan with a code reader may provide a trouble code, but the ABS system is a sub system and has a seperate contoller.
