If you are leaking gear oil from the rear case you most likely need a new gasket or rust has set in and there is a hole or even pin hole present but most likely gasket the censor is working telling you there is an issue that needs addressing so fix that with a drain pan under it the { pumpkin as it is often referred to adn a series of bolts remove them remove the cover slowly to allow any excess oil to drain into the pan and remove it inspect it and replace if needed then scrape clean the old gasket and replace it as well if new cover is needed or if not remove old gasket from that as well and re-adhere new gasket and reinstall remove square bolt with an extension and a socket wrench and fill with new oil to the point if it just begins to run out of the filler hole replace bolt and tighten it this will cure that issue .let me know if the issue persists and we can move onto the next step if needed ...

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE LOW ON REAR AXLE FLUID. CHECK YOUR FLUID LEVELS AND MAKE SURE IF YOU TOP OFF THAT YOU USE THE SPECIFIED OIL GRADES. IF GRINDING NOISE PERSISTS THAN YOU SHOULD HAVE CHECKED OUT. COULD BE BAD LIMITED SLIP CLUTCHES OR BEARINGS. LIGHT COULD BE ON DUE TO LOW FLUID LEVELS. MAKE SURE TO CHECK BOTH DRIVE AXLES AS WELL AS TRANS. AND TRANSFER CASE.

My 94 grand cher laredo v8 has a hard time getting into second, i have to over rev to 5k let off acceleration.all other gears change at 3 1/2 what could be the problems?

try having thbe fluid changed with the proper fluid. It may be low on fluid and this could keep the trans. from going into gear properly. Look at the old fluid when draing, see if there is metal in the fluid. If so you will need to have the trans. repaired.

Fluid leakage

Leak at the front is likely from the c/v joint, Either the strap is loose or the boot is split. Replacement is nearly the same exact job as replacing the axle itself and generally the price of a rebuilt or scrapyard axle is worth the $.
Leak at the rear sounds like a pinion seal. Though it is easy to do that job, if you don't do it correctly you will change the pinion gear depth and that can cause the differential to fail. I recommend you get a haynes or chilton manual to do this work or have a competent shop do it for you.
If the rear leak isn't terrible, often you can add lucas additive to the diff lube and just keep an eye on it so it doesn't run low. (check level at the plug in the rear cover).
Any problems or other questions, just ask!!

Get yourself a service manual with step by step instructions and diagrams. A good place is www.promanuals.net. $20 bucks or so for a factory one.

94 jeep grand cherokee laredo V8 5.2l automatic. Drives fine but after 10-15 mins of driving After its parked it makes loud popping noise from the rear. Cant locate where the sound is exactly coming from....

You can check fluid level by removing the rubber plug in the cover. Fluid is full when on level ground, it is just at the edge of the hole (or very close) if you are already getting noises out of there, you can remove the cover and inspect gears for wear or breakage. If you find a large amount of metal debris in the lube it tells you something bad is going on back there. Although rebuildable, it's not a home job...requires exact settings in order to operate properly. You can find good units far cheaper than even a gearset costs in any scrapyard. to match ratio, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. the replacement MUST have the exact same number. Before swapping diffs, check all back there to make sure noise is not from somewhere else.

Rear diff problem

The only place you did not mention is the pinion seal (at the yoke where the driveshaft connects) Any leak from a differential should be fairly obvious...clean everything off well and drive it, You should see seepage somewhere. Any grease on the wheels or new fluid where you cleaned will tell you where to look. If it is at the pinion seal, If you haven't done this before, don't...you can disturb the adjustment inside the gear case and damage the gears.
