Mercedes 124 series 230e broke timming chain and bent vavles replace vavles and skim head now car are miss firing on number one cylinder what can be the problem?

This is because of imprper timing, ask the service man to open the head and fix the timing of crank and cam proprly, there could be no other reason for that, hope this will solve the problem

There's a downloadable service manual on www.scribd.com if that helps. Sort out the reason for the overheat before you go far. Is it just the head or did the pistons take a hammering? If you know the timing is right, check the compressions.

Timing chain broke replaced it now car runs rough. rechecked timing


Put a vacuum gauge on the intake manifold. (any port)...If the needle is bouncing, likely you have a bent valve. Some engines are "interference" but even those that aren't can still have a valve/piston collision if the chain (usually the top gear) fails. Also check firing order etc.

My timming belt broke and i replace it and i only can compression on the number 3 clyinder what do i need to do


your Daewoo has an interference engine, when the timing belt brakes the valves hit the top of the pistons, and get bent. you will need to remove the cylinder head an replace the valves.....sorry.

Bought car with bent vavles they put water pump on truned motor with starter bent vavle . replaced vavle set chains with alldata , and it's back firing though intake


if you changed the valves and replaced the timing chain/belt you need to put the engine at top dead center at the number one cylinder

According to what you say, broke the timing chain, it may be that you have bent a valve in that cylinder, it is advisable to disassemble the cylinder head , To make sure of that

Can a plug foul out while running? on a 190 E mercedes, it was running rich to begin with and it began missing, i stepped on the gas and actually redlined. then the car just shut off? i think that it might...


Whovever did the head repplacement should have replaced the chain. If they did not then you probably lost teeth on the gears and chain went wild in there. Back firing can mean alot of things and can definatly support what you are saying.

If you redlined the vehicle any number of things can happen with no load to slow the engine down.
