Most likely the battery posts need cleaning.
If your headlights work ok with engine OFF, try starting with headlights ON.
If headlights turn off or almost completely off, then it is the dirty battery posts. remove the battery cables and clean the posts and the cable ends.
You will not need a boost, because your battery is probably charged! Yup, it's probably almost fully charged.

Hope this helps!

Your battery needs to be replaced. If your battery is in good condition, I would suspect the alternator, but you wouldn't be able to drive very far once it was started if this is the case.

Won't start from battery but starts from boost. Battery is okay starter is okay

Probably an intermittent ignition switch. Try start it by connecting a wire directly to the starter solenoid and touching it on the + of the battery. Ignition switch must be ON and be sure the car is NOT in gear.

Check to see if your regulator is built into the alternator.Usually if one needs replaced the other is not too far behind.

Try boosting the van.If that works then you either need to clean the cables and battery posts or you need a battery. If boosting it does not work then you may need a starter or the cables to it have came loose, also the engine ground could be the culprit,if this is true then put your booster cables in this configuration;positive to positive and negative from the boosting cars negative post to your engine's block, find a good clean grounding point on the block and hook the clamp there. If the van starts then clean the factory ground point, replace the cable end,or replace the cable.Let me know if none of this info helps and i will give you more things to try.

You need to do a complete tune-up on the van. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace the battery. If not check fluid level in each cell, if low you can fill to correct level with distilled water. then you can charge the battery. Using a volt meter you can check the alternator at the positive post on battery with the van running to see if it is charging correctly. You should have 14.5 volts to 15 volts. check the air filter and replace if dirty. Check the spark plugs and replace old plugs. replace the fuel filter on van. hope this will help you.
