SOURCE: firing order for a 1999 chevy s10 pickup

I apologize for the late response...Due to the bad economic situation this site has had a substantial (+50%) increase in the number of questions being asked in the last four months.
I assume you have a 4.3L and not the 2.2L?

For the 4.3L:
Firing Order:
1-6-5-4-3-2

Cylinders:
6-----------5
4-----------3
2-----------1
(front of vehicle)

Distributor:
coil wire-->
-----6------->............<--------5-------
-----4------->............<--------1-------
-----2------->............<--------3-------
............(front of vehicle)

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

Engine light comes on with #1 cylinder is misfiring, which is cylinder 1?

  • Hi, I can help.

  • The firing order is 1,2,3,4,5,6 for both the 2.7 and 3.2 1999 Dodge Intrepid engine. Please see the diagram I am uploading for a visual.

ironfist109_73.gif

  • So as you are looking at the engine from under the hood, cylinder 1 is the first cylinder on the left. This will be the plug, wire or perhaps the coil for that cylinder that will more than likely be the problem.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa,

Regards, Tony

My 1999 Intrepid has a Non-cylinder specific misfire. Had tuneup and changed coil packs no help.

In the tune up, did you replace the wires too? Check your firing order also.
