Question about 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

2 Answers

I just got a new battery for my 2004 Santa Fe, the problem is that when I try to connect the positive attachment after the negative, my car alarm goes off. I can't start the car to turn it off and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be great. thanks.

I have looked in the manual, there hasn't been any information that has been useful. My friend actually tried jumping the car at the beginning but as soon as all cables were connected the alarm went off also.

What we ended up needing to do is hook up the battery then close the hood and use the remote key and lock and unlock the car twice, and this disarms the security system.

Look in your owners manual for information on the alarm system.

Always connect the positive cable first to avoid a spark or battery arcing & explosion, Be careful. This may solve your problem.

Let's do this trick. Have the ignition key on, not at start position, not at Accessories, before put on the positive cable to the positive terminal. Good luck.

How do I change the negative battery cable in a 2002 sante fe

They sell a variety of replacement clamps or terminals, unbolt it,cut it off, expose a 1/2" or so wire and connect it to the replacement terminal, and install back to battery. Like 5 bucks and a couple tools.

Piston positions in 2004 hyndai santa fae

I were awakened by a loud explosion that sounded like a tire on an 18 wheeler blew out on the interstae nearby. then within seconds a smaller sxplosion and the 'panic' alarm on our 2008 Syundai Santa Fe started on go off. by the time I reached the window to look out on our driveway the rear drivers side of our 2008 Santa Fe was engulfed in flames, and only 3 feet from our house and parked next to our 2001 GMC 'Jimmy". One of our neighbors was frantically screaming for us to get out of our house and pounding on our front door. The vehicle had not been driven for over 2 days --- it just spontanousely erupted in flames.
WHY? Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening to a new Santa Fe with less than 2,500 miles on it?

Engine heats up & then alternator charge is weak. Had new battery & alternator installed in 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now after engine heats up alternator shows little or no charge. When engine is...

Check/inspect quality/condition of cables between the alternator & the positive (+) post of the battery. Also check quality/condition of ground cables & straps between battery negative (-) post and chassis and to engine block. One final check is the alternator's regulator connection between it and the UH (underhood) junction box (fuse & relay box).

Is it the alternator?

check the alternator it is probobly bad , because the aleternator charges the battery,, when it quites working you only have the battery to run on for awhile then it will go dead because the alternator is no longer charging the battery as a rule of thumb check the voltage on the battery with a voltmeter positive on positive negative on negative if its unnder 12 volts alternators bad hope this helps

Steps to remove radio

  • Step 1:Disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal. Position the cable to is doesn't come in contact with any metal parts.

  • Step 2:Pull out the ashtray and remove the two screws that connect the bezel around the radio. Pull off the climate control knobs and remove the two screws at the top of the bezel trim.

  • Step 3:Remove the trim and disconnecting any wires. Not all models will have connecting wires on the trim.

  • Step 4:Locate the two screws, one on each side of the Hyundai Santa Fe stereo, and pull the head unit out of the dash. Disconnect the wires behind the radio.
