I just bought my '04 nb convertible 6 days ago and today
I had the top down. i was gonna be parked at mybrothers house so i pulled the top up but did not lock it closed.; anyway when i came out,i lowered the top again and then a warning was buzzing and then i noticed an error message at the top where the temperature is. then i noticed the 2 lkittle flaps wouldn't close. i pulledover and tried several times lowering it and closing it and the error message and the flaps were still up. what is this, i am worried i am gonna have lots of trouble with this car.

from what i have learned about the TL 3.2, they are known for transmission failures, i have seen many for sale with "new" or "rebuilt" transmissions. i never heard of a computer causing the clutches to chatter in a converter.
I bought a 2007 gt convertible les than 12 hours ago was showing family how the roof goes down and now it wont go back up.now we have the roof down cant drive it because it is 40 degress out and we called the dealer and their service center is closed today and will not open till the morning.
1.Empty the trunk of all contents
2.Park on a level surface and set parking brake, shift auto trans into Park or manual into R
3.Turn the ignition off.
4.Open the trunk.
5.Pull down the convertible top latch located above the rearview mirror and turn it counterclockwise to unlatch . Leave the latch open and turned to prevent damage.
6.Pull rearward on the side edge of the convertible top and pull it off of
the windshield frame.
7.Push the convertible top down into the trunk
8.After the top is stored, push on the convertible top to ensure that the top is fully retracted and securely stored.
9.Close thet runk by pressing down from the rear center of it with a swift, firm motion.
I also had that problem, at first it only came on when i accelerated, then it just stayed let. After I got my tires changed it went away. I was told it was because there was a buildup of brake dust. Take the front wheels off and rinse it down and that should take car of it.
