A bad blower resistor will make only high speed work. it will have wires going to it and usually will be near the blower motor. it should have 2 screws holding it in.

The speed control switch depends on a resistor pack for lower speeds and the packs break down because they get hot with use. The are usually located near the rear of the switch or in back of the glove compartment.

Could be two things. Heater control..or heater switch. Or the moter is not recieving the reostat info from control. Check at heater wher wires go into it..as you change positions of switch you should see a voltage drop or increase, if u do then the moter is bad...if u do not then replace the heater control unit. :)

It may be caused by a Failure in the Resistance coil that controls the voltage to the Motor, and varies the Motor's speed.
On many vehicles, this is part of the Blower Control switch, on the Dash.

you need to replace the resister block located on the duct work for the blower. it will be located near the blower (fan) with at least two wires plugged into it. remove the two or three screws hold it in and replace it. make sure it's off when you do that as the resistors get extremely hot.

get it started and turn on the lights and the heater blower fan on high. if it dies, the alternator is bad. or you could disconnect the pos+ cable(with motor on). if it dies, the alt. is shot

The blower resistor is bad.Replacing this should take care of the issue,It is located on the passenger side under the glovebox by the blower motor.

My heat works but the blower does not work how do i fix it

Check fuse first. If fuse is ok put 12 volts to the blower motor to see if it runs. If not the motor is faulty . If it runs then check thre switch and wireing.

Blower not working for ac or heat

Remove the blower motor resistor and check it over.If it looks like it has a burn spot on it it is bad.Sometimes they will look good and still be bad.this is a common problem with blower not working. Before removing the resistor try tapping on the blower motor. If it starts to work then it is the blower motor itself. Also check fuse. They are under the hood and on the side of the instrument panel.Good luck.

1998 pontiac sunfire interior AC fan always on high.

This problem is caused by a burnt out fan speed dropping resistor, the resistor is near the blower fan on the air box.
