You may want to check the fan for the AC condenser under the hood of the car. Your AC condenser should have a separate fan similar to that of the radiator. See if it turns on while the AC is on. If it does not, you may want to swap the relay of the two fans. If swapping the fan relay would start the AC fan then have the relay replaced. If it does not turn on then have the fan tested. Check the wires. If the fan is Ok you may have to check out the condenser if it needs cleaning.

A/C blows hot at idle cold at hiways speeds

What year, make and model is this car, and the other thing is how are you sure it is full?

this problem could be due to a few things, low freon, over charged system, cooling fans not working, bad compressor or expansion valve bad, blend door problems or vacuum leaks to controls depending on model and year.

Are the radiator fans running ?
Is one ac line cold and one hot in the engine compartment.

A/C blows hot air going uphill or pulling a trailer.

you will need to change the clutch fan, under load or high speed will heat up the engine and the clutch fan should ingage to pull more are through the radiator. Also at idle with no air moving through that radiator the clutch should ingage to pull air through.

A/c compressor kicks off and on while idling and blows hot until

Immediate thought is a Lack of Freon in the system, or possible failing, of the Low Pressure Switch in the Hose line, that energises the Compressor Clutch.
An inexpensive get out, is to purchase a DIY can of FREON, that includes Compressor Lubricant and inject it into, the High Pressure Freon Hose port.

99 dodge ram 1500 ac problem

recharge your system, it;s low on refrigerat, there is not enough liquid going into the evap to help maintain cooling, hence the speed of the compressor. install gauges to check pressures at idle, if not to spec , recharge. if it's low you have a leak to repair. also make sure your AC condenser is clear. GOOD LUCK. RDJRP

2006 Dodge Ram 2500, A/C blows hot at idle & blows cold at highway speed, has new compressor, any solutions?

i had the same problem in my 2003 Durango!!
turns out the auxiliary fan was not working!!
that fan should run all the time when the a/c is on!!
so start the truck, turn the a/c on and then go look at the aux fan (the plastic electric one attached to the radiator) and make sure it is spinning!!

Dodge Ram AC not blowing cold

By pass both pressure switches one at a time with small wire or a paper clip. If comperssor kicks on replace the swich that you bypassed.
if not it could be the fan clutch ot the compressor. Compressor runs about $400.00
