99 Toyota Tacoma a/c reads high pressure on low pressure side

My 1999 Toyota Tacoma A/C blew cold, now all of sudden it blows warm. Pressure on the low side is very high. I read that this might be a clogged expansion valve. Any other ideas? How difficult is it to replace the expansion vavle?

Does the compressor run?
Low side could be high without a running compressor.

A running compressor?
The expansion valve itself is about $50 and bolts in.
You will have to remove the 134a gas before installing a replacement expansion valve and vacuum the system before recharging.

A/c not blowing cold air

80lbs on the low side is WAY too much if the clutch is running, the high side you should see 125-150ish, the low 30-40. I would feel the lines (the bigger line going into the firewall to see if it is cold when your pressure is right) if so suspect a blend door motor which controls the hot and cold switching inside.

How to find the low pressure a/c gauge on my 04 grand am gt?

There is no low a/c gauge on cars (most cars, anyway). It sounds like your a/c is blowing warm and someone suggested that you check the low pressure for freon.
The a/c has a low pressure side and high pressure side. The pressures can be checked by attaching a set of gages to the two ports of your a/c system. The low side needs to be at about 34psi to get cold air. A cheap set of gages can be found for about $40. Or you can buy a freon kit with low pressure gage at the auto parts store, such as Auotzone, Pep Boys, O'Reilley's, etc.
It sounds like you're not really familiar with a/c systems, and messing with them can be dangerous. You really need to work with someone who knows, or take it to a shop.

2001 ford explorer sport trac the a/c blows cold then gets warm, then returns to blowing cold...any ideas?

The best thing to do is make sure the freon level is good ,if that ok then ckeck the pressure with a set of a/c gages if the high side pressure are lower than 350psi and the low side is higher than 35psi and the compressor is shuting off the low pressure switch is bad.

After approx 40 min of highway driving the AC stops blowing cold

The frosting of the line is normal. Did you use a gauge set when charging the unit? AND, most important, Did you evacuate the system before putting in the freon? Very important. What was your final low side reading and your final high side reading?

the low pressure port is the charging port, this port is either in the low pressure line or the accumulator that the low pressure lines to to (can shaped object), the low pressure line is the larger of the two lines from the compressor.

Not getting cold air out of A/C

Freon is low, go to walmart and buy a R134 kit with guage attached (not very expensive. Connect it to the low pressure side of the A/c system (don't worry the connection won't fit on the high pressure side) Read the guage on the kit and add as neccessary. It truly is that simple.
