Changing brake pads on my 2004 colorado two pads are labeled "A" and two pads are labled "B" do I put A pads on one side and b pads on the other or a inboard and b out board. Do the...

You will put an A and a B on both sides. Wear indicator points down. As for inside or out, match them to your old pads, there will be a difference in design. Most likely A goes inside.

1996 jeep cheroke 4litr engien noisy claking lifter. how to get quiet. PLEASE

Check and verify that you have good oil pressure...good is 30psi or above at idle hot. Then,If after checking the rocker arm assembly you find no wear and all rockers travel about the same distance with no variations when cranking the engine (otherwise you may need a cam or lifter)
You can try using marvel oil added to the crankcase, then follow up with lucas additive about a week later. (remove the filter and drain it if there isn't enough don't want to over fill it my more than a pint.) If that does not work then likely a lifter has internal wear and needs to be replaced.
If when you checked pressure it was low then likely you have worn crankshaft bearings. Aside from replacement there is no cure for that.

How do i change the brake pads?

  1. Remove disc brake caliper from mounting bracket and support with a length of wire or remove sleeve bolt and rotate caliper up and out of the way to remove shoes. Do not allow caliper to hang by the brake line unsupported.
  2. Remove outboard shoe and lining. Use a suitable tool to disengage shoe springs from holes in caliper housing.
  3. Remove inboard shoe and lining, unsnapping shoe spring from piston.
  4. If installing new shoe and linings, bottom piston in caliper bore using large pliers. Take care not to damage piston or piston boot.
  5. Remove bushings from mounting bolt holes in bracket. To install:
  6. Install new bushings to mounting bolt holes in bracket. Lubricate bushings with silicone grease before installation.
  7. Install inboard shoe and lining by snapping shoe retainer spring into piston. Shoe retainer spring is already staked to the inboard shoe. Shoe must lay flat against piston.
  8. Install outboard shoe and lining by snapping shoe springs into holes in caliper housing. Wear sensor should be at the trailing edge of shoe during forward wheel rotation. Back of shoe must lay flat against caliper.
  9. Install caliper.
  10. Apply approximately 175 lbs. (778 N) of force 3 times to brake pedal to seat linings.

325i brakes, inboard pad worn to zero no wearing on outboard pad

If the pads are not wearing equally, u have a caliper problem. What is happening is the caliper isn't completely releasing when u take your foot off the brake (it's dragging). When u see this, u should either rebuild the caliper, or buy and install a new or rebuilt unit. Whenever replacing pads or shoes, flush out the brake lines. Contaminated brake fluid is the usual reason for caliper failure, resulting in premature brake wear. Also clean up the caliper points of contact and use special brake grease to lube calipers.
