Question about 1995 Ford F350

Have a new master cyl and ABS mod now when trying to bleed the brakes at the left rear no fluid comes out, is there a special way to bleed these cars

    Sorry I am not sure why this comes up under a ford pick I have a 2000 mustang GT and I am tryto bleed the brakes someone is pumping the pedal but I do not get any fluid coming out

    Thank you I solved the problem by rebleeding my master and going from there

Alot of abs systems need a scanner to open the valve in the abs unit in order to bleed. You may also have a bad brake line. Unplug it and see if fluid comes out. Then follow the line to the ABS unit and unplug. If still no fluid then you need to activate the ABS module with a scanner.

94chevy 1500 can't get the rear brakes bled


I had a experience with a car that REFUSED to let all air out its lines, and a friend of mine bought 4 vise grips, and gently grabbed the three hoses (from each wheel) that where not beeing bleed.
first he grabbed all four wheels, and notices a slight mush on the pedal and said that the master cyl was not properly bleed, he bleeded the cyl in a bench, then assembled the cyl and now the pedal was very stiff, then procedded to remove rear-right hose, and the pedal almost went to the floor, THERE WAS THE BUBBLE!, and bleeded acordingly, then reatached the vise grip on the OK line, and released the one on the rear-left, slight mush and bleeded, and so on. each time he tested for possibly air bubbles in each sector (master cyl, or lines, or caliper or aux cyl itself).
BUT!, IF your master cyl is NOT pumping fluid to the rear, probably the proportioning valve is broken (if yours has ABS, might the abs valves are dirty, and thus NOT closing and letting pressure go other way, because a failed abs pump SHOULD behave transparently, I mean , not interfering with the braking operation)
get quality FLARE WRENCHES, because the air bubble MIGHT not be right in the bleed bolt in the caliper/aux cyl.

Replaced some brake line, rear pads and one rear wheel cylinder. Now no pressure and nothing happening when trying to bleed.


Does the car have ABS ? And does it have an equalizer block for the 4 wheels ?
It sounds like the ABS has been affected, or there is an equalizer block that is stuck on the front wheels only.
Can you open the bleeder or the rear line on the master cyl and get fluid to come out by depressing the pedal ?

I tried to bleed the brakes rf good lf no fluid comes out.replaced rf line working good,pulled line from master cyl. and pulled bleeder valve no fluid. i have a 99 cavilier with abs,any idea.i havent tried...


Im confused first thing is to connect all lines, fill master and start bleeding at master, have someone pump brake three times and hold, open line at master allow fluid or air to flow and close, do not leave open to long,after 3 sec of fluid flow close line. you will do this to every line on the master. pumping the pedal three times and holding down pedal every time you open the line , after bleeding master you will then go to the left front as this is the brake with no fluid flow. you will make sure brake fluid is full always check after a few bleedings.

Remove the bleeder screw and place finger over the hole. tell them when to go down and when to let up, this may take a while if a lot of air is in system, remove finger and tell them to push down then put finger over hole and tell to release then tell them to push as they push release finger, you will need to do this until you get fluid flow making sure when pedal is released that hole is covered with finger so that air is not sucked into system. once you get a flow you will put bleeder in and bleed that wheel, if bleeding is good you will then bleed system starting at rt rear then left rear and then rt front and last left front.

1971 chevy 3/4 truck, front disc and back drums, i lost all brakes. Thought it was the master cylinder because the rear master cylinder port emptied itself of all fluid and no leaks on the rear wheel...


to bleed the brakes & should be done w/proportioning valve in place - you start at farthest corner - right rear, left rear, right front and left front.... If you suspect proportioning valve you can pick them up cheap at any salvage yard.

sometimes if you leave the bleeder screw open it will gravity bleed the cylinder.Make sure master cyl is full and do one wheel at a time.I have seen this work, I have done it.

I replaced the mst cyl. how do I bleed the ABS sys to get the air out? 97 ford F-150


You bleed it like you would a normal system but you must use the boost assist to do it, in order to do this start the truck pump the brakes three times and bleed that cylinder farthest away from the master cylinder do this twice or until you get clear fluid to run out. add fluid for every cylinder before moving on. Do this for each wheel and after doing all four wheels you should be ready to go. If it feels mushy you will have to bleed it a second time. But you must have the engine running to bleed the brakes unless you have a power bleeder. You may want to bleed the master cylinder first to do this add fluid to the cylinder then pump brakes three times crack the front line open and allow it to bleed air rout of the line do the same for the rear master cylinder once yo get solid fluid from the master cylinder you can dot the same for the ABS then do the wheel cylinders and wheel calipers. This needs to be done sometimes, be sure to never let the master cylinder run out of fluid and check it each time you bleed the wheel cylinders.

should not need to bleed module try giving the proportion valve afew good smacks sometimes this will dislodge the valve then rebleed

Brakes were working fine and all the sudden the pedal went to the floor bench blead new master cylinder still no pedal any ideas


what kind of vehicle?? wheel cylinder maybe, ... look in side rim for fluid... does new master loose fluid?? did you bleed brakes after new master install???

Your complaint states that you see no air, is there fluid coming out of the left bleeder when bleeding the brakes? If you only see a few drops dribbling out, or nothing comes out at all...This can be a very difficult problem to solve. If this vehicle is a 1992 or later, it has rear antilock brakes, and if it is an ABS system, bleeding usually requires special equipment, and procedures. But there is something you can try. This takes quite a bit of time and patience, and a little bit of preparation. First you must realize that in the case of rear ABS, each rear brake has it's own fluid source, and plumbing from the ABS unit. If the obstruction is in the ABS unit none of the steps following will solve the problem, but you'll have to perform these steps to find out! DO NOT TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL I INSTRUCT YOU TO HAVE AN ASSISTANT HELP YOU! USE PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT! (Gloves, and eye protection, and protect your skin from exposure to brake fluid!) First we must know whether the flexible brake hose on the left rear is obstructed. The easiest way is to simply replace it, or if you don't want to start with a new part, you could disconnect it from the steel brake line that runs along the frame towards the rear of the car. (you don't have to remove it from the wheel cylinder first). Place a drip pan underneath the disconnected components. Now open the hood and remove the master cylinder cap. Make sure the brake fluid level is at the maximum height in the master cylinder. Now go back and look to see if there is any fluid leaking from the steel brake line. If there is not, then this is the point where patience is a virtue. There is air in the system all the way to the ABS unit. If the ABS unit is not obstructed or defective, fluid should flow by virtue of the force of gravity through the system and out of the end of the disconnected steel line, but if there is no fluid flow, it will take several minutes to possibly up to an hour and a half. If you have the patience to leave the car alone, maybe go to lunch, or to the auto parts store to shop for a while, gravity will do the bleeding for you. Once fluid begins to leak from the line, reconnect the brake hose and open the bleeder. Allow several more minutes for the wheel cylinder to fill and fluid to bleed out of the bleeder, then close the bleeder. Now do a complete bleed procedure using an assistant to pump the brakes while you finish bleeding any remaining residual air out. If you didn't get fluid from the bleeder, after you reconnected the hose, and after you waited long enough for the wheel cylinder to fill, then the brake hose is obstructed, and you will need a replacement brake hose. Once you are sure there is fluid flow, and no obstructions between the bleeder and the ABS unit, then you shouldbe able to obtain adequate pressure. If you can not get pressure, or fluid flow, you probably need to replace the ABS unit. There are additional procedures for ABS unit bleeding, but again, special equipment is required, so professional service is recommended.
