Change fuel filter and add can of SEAFOAM to gas. now if your car has a 2.7 engine, these engines are suffering from sludge problems. most have to be replaced. One thing that can help with the sludge is also following direction, add an amount specified to your oil(what it says on a can of SEAFOAM).<p>
the 2.7 is a manufactuers defect, and Chrsyler is in court right now over it.

Why won't my 98 dodge stratus start?

Old and tired engine. 2.7, I would assume. Charge the battery and post the codes. Changing the valve seals only keeps it from smoking at start up. Burns the oil from the cylinders. If it smoked all the time it was the piston rings. Common on the 2.7 engines. Find another car.

Why would a 2000 Stratus rough idle then die?

if now it won`t start it could be a spark(ignition)problem, check for spark at the plug. you should check for a code in the pcm this may help, not all codes set the check engine light. could also be a bad fuel pressure problem.

2006 dodge stratus low cylinder compression when warm

My guess would be a lifter or the piston rings.
A lifter should make a noise as it leaks down, and the rings should cause some smoke out the exhaust pipe.

99 dodge stratus, has rough idle when brakes are applied. Car is running, if Iput in park it runs fine. Check engine light is not on.

Sounds like an issue with the brake booster - either the booster itself has a leaky seal, or maybe the brake booster line has a leak. Could also be the brake booster check valve.

CHECK UR BATTERY AND SPARK PLUG WIRES WHICH R RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING THE POWER TO THE ENGINE. WHEN U TURN THE AC U CONSUME MORE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE BATTERY REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF POWER AVAILABLE TO THE ENGINE
