Ford runs entirely on vacuum so if you replaced all the above mentioned the issue most likely is vacuum dry-rotted lines etc... however if it is equipped with a fuel shut off locate it and pull it to reactivate the flow of fuel sounds most likely just that from having been an owner as well

It could be the expensive part,the injection pump,do research on it before changing it.

My 1989 ford f-350w/7.3 idi stops running while driving i replaced the fuel pump with elec. one new injector pump new injector lines return lines. new fuel lines from tank all the way

when this happens oes it start again then in a couple of minutes it dies again if so you either have a dead spot in your throttle position sensor which is worn section of contact inside the sensor from always being there in that position while driving or the idle air control vavle is no good and once the engine gets warm enough the valves internal contacts spread and break contact ex solder inside has corroded and a bad joint exist and when temperature increases metal expands and the electrical path can no longer arc because the gap is to big so it cuts out the best way to check is start the vehicle overnight cold if you can rev the engine multiple times then the throttle position sensor is good if not thats it try both in park and drive if you can constantly raise the rpms then your idle air contol is bad but the best way is to check the TPS with a meter across the contacts if voltage disappears then comes back the throttle position sensor is no good

2004 Chevy S10 4x4 stalling at idle. Drove 3 hours last night, no prob, but this morning this. RPMs 200-800, oil pressure gauge flutters, lights dim with the idle, then stalls. Starts right back up.

can be a multiple of reasons -will start with check for fuel pressure -possible fuel pump/fuel filter ---in need of a tune up ---egr valve --cat converter--battery - these components sometimes dont set off a check engine code but if you did or do have a code have it scanned most auto stores offer this service for free

1993 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 starts surging @ 33-34 mph and @ 1200 rpm. Tried to duplicate @ different speeds and rpm combanation but only does it @ these. Changed spark plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter and oil...

Hello:;
This sounds like a fuel problem at the carb. What it's doing is termened hunting a nd can generally be corrected by a simple adjustment of the carb. Engine at idle and neutral set rpms at lowest idle , around 640 rpms. then adjust the a/f ratio screws to balance carb. Screw both screws all the way in, do not force ,or needle and sear damage will occir. Now back each out to 1.5 turns That is your start point Adjust one screw in and out slowly until you you feel its best effact on ide whicjh should slightly increase. repeat with other screw, in and out slowly . listening to the engine idle. if idle has increase due to your adjustmebt, repwat process after lowering the idle speed again with the idle screw. When you get to the point the screws no longer affect the idle the engine show sound and run smoothly at idle, make sure you resert the idle to 650rpms for an automatic trans and 650-750 for manual trans. I hoped this helped- good luck.. If it still does it, the carb may nrrd the float checked and st.

Engine wont fire until fuel is poured in throttle body

1993 s-10 should have a 4.3 engine. Your symptoms tell me your throttle body injector is clogged, and only allows so much fuel to pass through it. Therefore, on a idle there is not enough fuel coming through to keep the engine running, or to start it. If you replace the throttle body injector your issue should cease.

I hope this information helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

RPMs bounce around whenever in idle

The throttle position sensor could cause this problem.They are usually easy to replace.
