First check both front and rear lft side bulbs. Then, I would check the signal relay. I think it is under the dash one the left side. Here is want your are looking for. A new one cost about $12-$15 at most parts stores. Last I would suspect the signal switch assembly on the column. (Perchance you have a trailer hitch plug? If so look there too)
Check the fuse in your fuse box. Refer to your manual. If the fuse is fine turn your signal on, with the radio off, and listen for a clicking sound from the fuse box. If there is no sound it could be your signal relay. It is located at your fuse box. Your local auto store should carry this item and may assist you in changing it.
Your F--150 has 2 flashers, emergency and turn signal. Both are mounted on the fuse block under the dash. The turn signal flasher is mounted on the front of the fuse panel, the emergency flasher is mounted on the rear of the fuse panel. so replace the turn signal flasher should solve the problem. Let me know how it goes.
