The panel is held in place with metal clips which will pry apart. use a putty knife and patiently work your way around the perimeter of the panel. it will come off.

Only passenger side electric window works on 98 Lincoln Town Car. Where is the fuse or relay that controls the windows?

The AC is working an blowing but the heating is also blowing at the same time. What can fix this problem? It is 1998 Lincoln Continental Town Car.


Could be the vacuum motor blend door problem where the plastic door inside the dashboard is not properly being angled to direct cold air and to block hot air from coming into the cabin.

Power window will not work going up how can i pull the window up until i can get it fixed 1998 lincoln town car


remove the door panel,, locate the 2 wires that go to the window motor use a 12 volt power supply with at least 10 amps,, reverse the wires to either go up or down, your problem if it is a switch not the motor, can be solved doing this, ( if you don't have a 12 volt power supply, use jumper cables and your battery ,, use insulated clips to touch the wire connection for the motor so you don't short it out , replace the switch

How do you get to the fuel pump on a 1998 lincoln town car to replace it


Take out the fuel tank. It's inside the tank. Don't buy a cheap pump or you'll be doing it again. Also - change the fuel filter too if it hasn't been done in recent memory.

If it is the switch, both switches have to be defective, which is not impossible, but very unlikely. If during movement of another window you can distinguish the motor sound, but do no hear anything alike from the left back door's window, it is either the motor, or a loose wire after the switch. Most likely the point of interruption is where the door wires enter the door, due to constant bending there. Finally, if you hear the motor, it is the mechanism which the motor drives.

How to repairdriver side window motor for a 1998


Assuming the window motor runs BUT doesn't move glass.......carefully remove the door trim. unhook electrical connectors,remove water shield plastic, access inside the door and locate motor,( pushing glass up if required)....now on the inner panel locate #3 DIMPLE marks, this is where the motor bolts are at...use a drill and drill thru slowly (drill for the size of socket you have).....CAUTION: place a block/bar/etc to keep the window from falling down and cutting your arm off when the motor is removed.... Now with the motor out, remove the cover at the gear,clean and remove the plastic gears, there are 3 round inserts (may be broken now) that needs to be replaced..purchase at your local parts store...kragen/napa/etc.... reverse steps to assemble...hope this helps you...be careful...GL

your blend door motor has gone bad under the dash . the blend door motor controls the blend door in the heater box to allow hot or cold air to flow or a mixture of both to reach desired tempreture. this is a hard job cause the dash must be moved back to get to motor.

sounds like your blend door motor has gone bad. this motor controls the blend door in the heater box that allows eather cold or hot air to flow or a mixture of both. replacing this motor is a big job cause the dash must be moved out to get to the motor.

98 Lincoln TC,Cold starts fine ,runs good until warm, then shuts off. No codes,Cranks ok, have spark, PATS ok. No fuel pressure, cant hear fuel pump prime,New Fuel relay. jumped fuel pump - works. I do not hear fuel pump prime up, do not have fuel gauge, but pressing on valve in fuel rail- no pressurized fuel. Fuel regulator seems ok, not leaking / vacuum line dry as a bone. If I let it set for 15 min , it will start up again, but for a few minutes then dies out. If I let it set overnight it starts up perfectly and runs until operating temp is reached then stalls/stumbles, and shuts down. Vacuum is good while cranking, even with no start, Checked Inertia switch in trunk, it is not tripped. I have seen Ford TSB summaries' that mention issues like this , but I am not able to see to description. A point to add, the MAF sensor was cleaned, then I decided to replace it and did not make a difference. I do not have any stored codes, and the PATS is working fine, typical 2 second flash from and once key is inserted a 3 second steady light, then disappears. I have seen the TSB mentioning C103 Connector, it looks fine, I swapped out fuel pump relay with ac relay, still no difference.mention of wires around battery, do not know where to start. in dash service engine light and odometer is normal, seen other posts the say they only have lines, but mine is ok. the start of all of this , I washed engine with regular garden hose, ( not using pressure washer).also in the mean time, rear window defroster stopped working as well, can not say for same reason, but a mention.My problem started after washing engine. this is one of four Panther platform vehicles I owned with exact 4.6l w code engine, which I rinced down before. The only sensor I can think of is Oil pressure , or a corroded wire
