Generally that is caused by a bad clutch master cylinder, a leaking line between the master and the slave cyl. or a bad slave cylinder. Or, your clutch may be worn out. (usually slips long before it totally goes away.)

Vehicles manual trans will not shift in to 1 or 2 1994 pontiac gr

Check your Fluid Level in the transmission it and if it's low top off as needed. If you need directions on checking this I recommend you get the Haynes Repair manual for your vehicle from the local Auto Parts store. This could also be a clutch or Throw out bearing problem. You will certainly need that manual to repair the clutch if your going to do this yourself. Your other option would be to take the vehicle to a transmission shop.

Check the transmission fluid level, per your owners manual. (Some transmission fluid levels need to be checked cold, some hot with the engine running and some hot with the engine off) Most hot with engine running.
If your level is good, and the fluid looks reddish or maroon, bring it to a trusted local mechanic. He/she will be able to determine if you have a blown transmission or if bad solenoid(s) are to blame for your poor shifting. Transmission solenoids cannot be checked by the average person in their driveway.
Dark brown or black transmission fluid means the transmission was not serviced properly and the fluid "cooked" and a fatal internal failure has occured, or vice versa.

91 GTA 350 Cannot go in reverse; when I shift, the car 'jumps'

Sounds to me like the valve body is sticking causing the low/reverse clutch pack to stick. Might try a fluid/filter change. If all else fails, at least the 700r4 is a cheap/easy transmission to rebuild.

It won't go into park or reverse

The transmission is locking into place. Rocking it will eventually only make matters worse. Transmission service is the only option. First try Wynn's Transmission additive - in a grey bottle. Works great to loosen up parts.
