There is a plug on a small tube at the front of the tranny. do not overfill, as there are no dipsticks.

Do I need to change my Transmision fluid on my 2000 Daewoo Lanos Automatic trany, And how do I do it. I have 137,000 miles and never touched my transmision.

With any vehicle you should maintain the transmission. I would recommend going to an auto parts store and picking up a haynes manual. If you don't want to do that ask the parts store to look up your vehicle for the transnission filter and gaskets set and how many quarts of fluid you will need for the job. Locate the transmission and look for the pan and loosen each bolt from the front to the back to start letting the fluid drain out. Once the fluid is slowly draining or almost done remove the bolts and clean up the area and remove existing gasket. Remove new filter and replace it. Check for unusual amounts of metal on the magnet if is a lot and big pieces there is some damage but if it;s just a little bit of shavings this is normal wear and tear. Clean the magnet off and start putting the pan with new gasket back on. Using the haynes manual to find out correct torque requirements for the bolts. Or get them all hand tight and go around again and snug each one. Don't go crazy because the bolts break really easy. Good Luck

How to remove transmission fluid pan.

first off drain the fluid out of the transmission pan. I always remove the return hose(which is driver side on rad base) and put into a container. Put e-brake on start vehicle and put into drive, this will drain fluid out of transmission. When fluid stops flowing, re-attach return line to rad, put transmission back into park, shut off engine. Remove drain plug from bottom of transmission pan to drain remaining fluid. You will have to disconnect the front axle drive shaft to remove transmision pan. There are 4 bolts attached to flange at front of axle. Remove these bolts and nuts only and move shaft out of the way. Mark placement of at least 1 bolt on flange. If the bolt placement is not correct you will have vibration when 4 wheel drive is engaged. (Grease the bolts when putting back together.) Remove transmision dip stick from holder. There are 2, 10 or 12 mm bolts that hold the dip stick holder in place. These are 1/2 way down the holder and are attached to engine. You can reach these from top or bottom of vehicle. Replace at least 1 bolt when you put back together. If not the holder will vibrate against engine and will be annoying.
There are 10mm bolts holding the pan in place, remove all but one. When ready ensure there is enough clearance to allow the transmission pan and holder to be removed. Remove last bolt, as the pan drops, you will have to keep the pan level. Basically hold the pan and pull it down in a way that removes the dipstick holder. Since you have the pan off replace the fluid filter and clean plate filter is attached to. Also clean off magnets in transmission pan. The magnets are what picks up any metal pieces. Leave magnets in pan. When putting pan back on replace gasket if required and tighten bolts in offsetting pattern to allow for even seal. I believe it is only 14lbs torque required for the bolts. Do not over tighten as these will strip easily.

How do i put in transmission oil 2004 volkswagen passat

There is no dipstick on these vehicles like u will find on older american cars.

The transmission fluid can only be checked when the transmission fluid temperature is between 35 to 45 degrees celcius.

The only way to know the fluid temp is with a diagnostic scan tool. At that point you remove the fill plug in the bottom of the transmision pan and fill with fluid until fluid drains back out. Use only genuine VW fluid part number G 052162A2 or you will damage the transmision. If you fill with fluid while tranny is to cool you will over fill and damage the transmission. If you fill with fluid when the tranny is to hot you will underfill and run a slight risk of damaging the transmission. The fill plug and drain plug are next to each other so make sure you are removing the right one.

I have a 2002 Passat wagon, with a1.8 l engine and a 5 speed automatic transmision. By mistake I drained the transmision. |How do do I refill the transmision so that I can take it to a shop to top it up...

Find the transmission filler tube under the hood. Get a funnel, and fill. Do not overfill, and use proper tranny fluid for your cars' specifications. Your user manual should have a capacities index, and the type of trans. fluid to use listed somewhere in the manual. Hope this helps.

How do i check my transmission fluid? for a 2000

Set the parking brake and put a block on at least one wheel. Pop the hood and find the Transmission dipstick. Start the engine and shift the gear shift into neutral. Pull the dipstick, wipe it with a clean rag, put it back in, pull it out and read it.

first you need to buy transmission fluid new filter and new need 11.4 pints of transmision fluid.raise front of vechicle.set parking brake.block both back wheels.besure support vechicle weight with jack stands. get a drain pan.if your transmission pan dont have a drain plug.loosen rear pan bolts a few turns.remove the front and side transmission pan bolts. let fluid drain.remove tranny pan. then clean old gasket material from transmission and pan carefully.dont scratch or damage surface.clean old tranny bolts using brake cleaner or buy new tranny have to put a tiny film of rtv silicone on tranny bolts so they wont leak.carefully remove old tranny filter and put on new filter.clean all grease grim away from tranny pan it should be **** and span might need a little gasket adhesive to hold gasket in place while putting pan back on line up bolt holes.loosely put all bolts in you have to move pan a little to get holes line up.when all is finish put tranny fluid back in.besure you put 11.4 pints back in that about 6.5 quarts. make sure tranny fluid level is right before driving vechicle.l
