2001 jeep Cherokee sport out of no where started sputtering and chugging, running rough and 10 mph was top speed go about 20 ft then die. Start up and same thing. Went about 1-2 miles like this.

to me, it sounds like fuel related problem.
Clogged fuel filter, bad (aged) fuel pump, or water in tank.

one thing I doubt is "Sputtering".
low fuel pressure don't do "Sputtering".

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee sport with only 89,000 mile . the top of the motor has a loud kocking . what could it be . a rocker loose or broke

Yeah either one...but that doesn't cause the low oil pressure light to come on. When you have oil pressure light comes on, that means that your oil pump is failing and/or your main bearing seals are failing. Costly repair.

Ford 2001 sport trac determining the high and low pressure taps

I am guessing you are talking about air conditioning ports?, if so, word of thumb, the port on the large diameter hose is low side and the smaller diameter is the high side or pressure side.

Where is the low pressure AC port on a 99 Cherokee Sport?

Should be the larger hose coming from the compressor; in 1998 in line 6, there are 2 a/c ports on this jeep. one is on the small steel line the other is at the side of compressor with a cap on the port which has a "H" on the cap.

Where is the low pressure coolant port?

It is the port on the metal tubing that will fit the end of the fill hose from the Freon... it is the only one that will fit. The high pressure side is different so you don't jack it up.

Plain site... gray or black cap...screw on..no tools needed.

A/C kicking in and out.

There are 2 lines coming off the AC compressor, one is larger than the other (that is the low press line), the low pressure line is the common place that the switch is located, the other is the accumulator can, the low pressure goes to the accumulator, in any event it is always in the low pressure side, large cold line.

Aircon not working 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport

There is a pressure valve that keeps the compressor from turning on if it has a low freon charge. Get a self recharge kit that comes with a gauge with colored charge indicator. Hook it up and see where your charge is. It is very inexpensive compared to a pro A/C shop.
