Hello walker_227,

Removal Procedure:

SPECIAL TOOLS: You will need a power steering pulley remover and installer tool, DO NOT USE A HAMMER.

1. Remove the power steering pulley.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Remove the oil pan skid plate from the vehicle, if equipped.
4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
5. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump from underneath the vehicle.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the return hose from the power steering gearbox and the power steering pump.
8. Remove the bolt retaining the rear bracket to the engine.(See picture below)
9. Remove the bolts from the front of the pump.(See picture below)
10. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
11. Remove the bracket from the rear of the pump

Installation Procedure:

1. Reverse above procedure
2.Fill and bleed the power steering system.

Show me how to replace power steering pressure hose on 1995 GMC Yukon

It's very easy, undo screw one end from back of power steering pump, no need to remove pump, and unscrew other end of hose from steering gear box, replace hose and top off with power steering fluid, when you undo power steering hose have a pan to catch the power steering fluid that will drip out.

Very hard to steer wheel in my 2003 gmc yukon and there is plenty of steering fuid in it

Turn car off - Remove power steering cap, and turn streering wheel hard right or left and fluid should pour out (cover surroundings with rags.) If so, check your power steering pump.

How do i replace my water pump on a gmc yukon xl 2002

First you will need to remove your tension belt from all your pullies. This is usually done finding a pully that provides tension to and takes away from the belt. HINT: It will be one that doesnt have abunch of mechanical part atached behind it. After removing hte belt in the center of the motor about mid ways up there is a pully that has a hose runing behind it. The other end of the hose goes to the radiator. Well where this plugs into the motor is the waterpump. you more than likely will need to remove the pully from the pump. afd88a0.jpgAbove is a picture of your pump with the pulley removed. The four bolts in the center are how you disconnect the pulley and the four on the side of the pump are how you disconnect from the motor. Make sure when you get done and all back together to look around the new pump for leaks.

Check to see if the power steering pump is still turning. If you have a broken drive belt (serpentine belt or "fan" belt), and the pump doesn't turn, you have no power assist. If the pump is still turning, check the fluid level in the reservoir.
