Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek

Open Question

The power reserve for accesories does not go out whenever i stop the car and remove my key. I replaced all of the relays inside and outside fuse boxes and still have the same. So the windows works and the day running lamps still on also. I think the problem could be with the bcm but not sure.

you are overheating. Check temp sender in block. Also make sure fan relay is operational in fuse box. Fans should come on after about 5 minutes of idle.

HVAC Blower stopped working

The fuse you replaced powers the hvac control. The run relay is powered by a 30amp fuse in the fuse box near the battery.
Is the relay getting power from that 30amp fuse ?

You probably have a worn out key and tumbler assembly. Crabk your truck and see if you can remove the key while it is running. Try putting the key back in and jiggle it to see if the powered up units go off. I worked for Ford for many years and that year truck also had a problem with the ignition switch at the bootom of the steering column. That is where the rod from your ignition switch (key) goes in and turns all the accesories on. It is possible that it is sticking in the power on position. This could also be from a broke actuator rod.

My 98 Monte Carlo won't start. The lights, radio, windows all work, but when I turn the key nothing happens.

check the fuses there is a starter fuse, if not check the starter for power at the small wire if no power could be the relay,if you have power at the small wire its the starter that's bad.

Random clicking noise when key is engaged but stops

The sound is a relay switching over when you insert the key and power the vehicles accesories. It is a normal sound, but whatever that relay powers may fail soon. It sounds like the small electromagnet inside won't hold the voltage, hence the clicking sound.

Recheck fuse 18 (15amp) in the central under dash fuse panel. This is the fuse that feeds all of the items you listed.Make sure it has power to it. If it does not have power to it then it maybe the accesory delay relay which it is the center top relay in that fuse box, this relay is fed by fuse 6 (30amp) in the battery junction box under the hood.

on the right side of the firewall. you should see the ground wire. look at the condition and secondly is it tighten properly. If not remove the fuse box and check each fuse accordingly. If you see a burned separation between the male and female connectors inside the fuse then replace them with the same number for example. blue 15//red 25 etc....
