Rear popping in 1986 300ZX

I am having a problem with my 86 300ZX. Whenever I let out the clutch there is a popping in the rear of the car. I thought that it was a U-Joint problem, so I replaced the driveshaft and it is still there. Not sure what else it could be, aside from the bushings and struts, or the rear differential. Anyone have any ideas?

The rear shocks were bad about failing in these cars because to the load transfer when accelerating. I recommend that you check the shocks and the bushings around the shocks first.

I have a whirring, rattling sound whenever I change gear on my 1995 Ford Escort - I think it may be my fly wheel but have no idea what sort of cost I'm looking at for repairs?

The sound that you are hearing it the throw out bearing. The noises that you hear is a sign that is going out. You will have to have the transmission removed and might as well have the clutch replace with the throw out bearing as a set due to the work that needs to be done to change it.

My right rear wheel is locked up. I can go forward but not in reverse. About a week ago I was backing out of driveway and truck wouldn't go then made a large clunk sound. I thought I ran over something....

Sounds like a problem with rear brakes. If this vehical has drum style brakes if the brake shoe has become disconnected in some way it will usally wedge against drum in one direction or another. You need to inspect rear brakes.

Need to change air and fuel filters, not sure where they are ?

The air filter is in a rectangular box under the hood. It will have either 4 screws or several metal clamps that you just pop off. The fuel filter is in front of the right or left rear wheel attached to the frame. In 86 you will need a 5/8" and a 9/16" line wrench to loosen the two connections.

My am radio is horrible in my 2006 navigator. could antenna not be plugged in? if i open rear window vents, radio sounds better.

I'm not sure on this vehicle but some have the antenna in the glass (front or rear). Mine has a small black clip that connects to the glass for the antenna. It can pop off easily. Just a thought.

Popping noise from rear end

I would check out the universal joints. Crawl under the vehicle and see if there is any play in them by trying to move around the drive shaft. If there is excessive play then the u joints are the problem. Hope this helps and good luck.

Whenever I turning into a parking spot my car

This is caused by deterioration of the Fluid in the rear differential of the car. This occurs when the rear end is opened at its extremes at first and will progressively get worse to the point where it will make the noise all the time while driving. First the fluid in the rear end needs to be changed, and replaced with the appropriate Honda fluid (either vtm 4 fluid or dual pump fluid depending on model) if the doesnt immediatley fix the problem, there is a burnish procedure that your local honda dealer can perform for you which involves changing the fluid and cleaning the clutches inside the rear diff. Good luck!

Hello, 1986 Toyota 4X4 Truck 22R carb engine manual transmission. My son was driving it and the rear wheels locked up. Driving in 2 High mode. He got the truck pulled over to the side of the road using 4X4...

I've seen a similar issue on other transmissions where the shifter slips out of the slots in the shift forks, either due to shifter bushing wear or just general wear on tte trans. It can usually be remedied at least temporarily by popping the shifter top off the trans and resetting the forks all back to nuetral and then reinserting the shifter. It gets jammed when two forks are trying to engage two different gear sets.
On one of the 4x4 sites, they tell you how to replace the shifter bushings, cheap fix if you are lucky.
Good luck.
