Oxygen sensor after catalytic converter showing no activity. This also incorporates a heater circuit to it as well, so check fuse block for blown fuse as well, otherwise new sensor may be required. Scan tool & competent operator can diagnose it pretty quickly to be sure.

Weird noise from my '01 PT cruiser.

It's possible that the you have "cupped" tread on a tire or two. After rotation you may hear it. Look at the outer edges of all of the tires for an uneven tread wear. Sometimes it takes a little driving to **** this down. If no luck here, I would stop back at the garage to have them verify there isn't a safety issue.

Is there any difference between '01 and '03 engine?

what you need is a Hollander book that tells you what the difference is in the engines there may be just little diff and it will tell you what you can swap .
and most salvage yard have these books and dont charge to look it up for you.
and dont let someone guess and say yes and then you have to go back and change so importaint part.
