Question about 1991 Acura Integra Hatchback

1 Answer

Son put penny in the cig lighter. And now the car wont start.

I have a 1990 integra with a b18b1 swap. I replaced the 70 amp main fuse under the hood and the ecu fuse and the fuel system is cycling but no spark. and i checked all other fuses. I checked for spark at the plug wire and coil and no spark. The cap and coil are msd blaster cap. If there is any one with some advise let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

Check any burning points along with the wiring loom in dashboard starting from cig. lighter and if there is a little sign of any melting cable then replace it. Continuity test is essential for the circuit. Its better if you go to an electrician because they have all necessary tools to find out a short circuit.

I dropped a Penny in cigarette lighter on my 2001 acura rl now the radio doesn't work and fuses appear fine

Some radio power sources also tie into the cigarette lighter and power adapters. You mentioned fuses appear ok, if you dont have a test light to test both sides of the fuses try swapping the fuses around from another location and see if that changes anything.. Oh and if the penny is still in the lighter try a ball of tape of the end of a pencil to pull it out.. Look for a fuse listed aux. power or radio/cig lighter. Most likely the fuse is inside the car not under the hood..(usually)..

Where is the fuse for cig lighter?

either behind the cig lighter in-line or otherwise in the fuse box - which could either be under the hood or under the dashboard - drivers side.

There is no power to the 12v power outlet (front) as well as the cigarrette lighter, and cruise control on our 2006 Kia Sedona. The fuses are good. Is there a connector behind the center console that may...

Check fuses inside AND under the hood..... "cig lighter" is 15 amp...... "power" is 25 amp under the hood. Also check your power socket in the console to see if coins have gotten in there. There was a penny in mine and I blew 3 fuses before I learned to check that from another forum. Plucked it out with some gum on the end of a stick!

My 3 year old son put some pennies in the lighter/elect. jack and now radio and elect outlets are not working. could not find bad fuse under hood. 2004 toyota corolla. are there other hidden fuses inside...

There is a fuse box located just above the drivers knee. It is very difficult to access. Lay on your back and slide under the dash, take a flashlight. The box is black in color, about 1" x 6". Pull the cover off, 15 amp fuse marked CIG.

Cig lighter fuse blew. renewed but cig lighter and remote key not

you probably didnt change the right fuse and had another one blown at the same time you also could have a primary fuse under the hood that blew. once fixed dont use pump again. not same amps drawn

Just died on the road

This could be related to either your fuses (courtesy, headlamp, etc) or possibly a bad alternator. If you get it started, go under the hood and, whilst running, remove the positive battery terminal. If your alternator is good, the truck will stay running. It sounds to me like a short could have caused this problem, I, having had a similar problem would reccomend checking your cigaret lighter and making sure nothing has fallen into the socket. I once found a penny in mine and before I did I was constantly blowing fuses. The Fuse you will want to check first will be your courtesy fuse. should be a 20-25 amp.
