My son put a penny in cigarette lighter and now car wont start

I have a 1990 integra with a b18b1 swap and my son put a penny in the lighter. it blew the 70 amp main fuse under the hood and i also replaced the ecu fuse under the hood. now I checked the fuel and the fuel pump is cycling. so the next thing I checked is spark at the plug wire and coil and they are not parking. Ive also checked every fuse inside and out, and there ok. the coil pack and msd blaster cap is installed on the vehicle. But yet no spark. if you have any suggestion it would be greatful

SOURCE: son put penny in the cig lighter. And now the car wont start.

Check any burning points along with the wiring loom in dashboard starting from cig. lighter and if there is a little sign of any melting cable then replace it. Continuity test is essential for the circuit. Its better if you go to an electrician because they have all necessary tools to find out a short circuit.

I dropped a Penny in cigarette lighter on my 2001 acura rl now the radio doesn't work and fuses appear fine

Some radio power sources also tie into the cigarette lighter and power adapters. You mentioned fuses appear ok, if you dont have a test light to test both sides of the fuses try swapping the fuses around from another location and see if that changes anything.. Oh and if the penny is still in the lighter try a ball of tape of the end of a pencil to pull it out.. Look for a fuse listed aux. power or radio/cig lighter. Most likely the fuse is inside the car not under the hood..(usually)..

Penny dropped into the cigarette lighter of my 2008 saturn astra. I got the penny out, but the cigarette lighter doesn't work

hi,

there must have been a weak connection somewhere in the line.
use a volt meter to trace from the lighter to the fuse box.
I have also seen the wire connection go bad during a short in the back of the fuse box itself where the wire goes in.
follow the 12 volts and you will find your problem.

1995 cadillac sedan deville with penny in cigarette lighter now car won't start

You may want to remove the penny from the cigarette lighter...

However it sounds as though you should take another minute or two and check all your fuses and replace the ones affected if any.

A penny fell in my car cigarette lighter and sparks when I try to get it out. How do I remove it?

Find the fuse that supplies power to the lighter socket and remove it (It may already be blown). Once that is done you can safely remove it with a thin screwdriver or tweezers.
