First test for a draw instead of throwing money at every thing 1sy disconnect the battery negative terminal and connect one end to the battery negative terminal and the other to the cable end if the light is lit then you have a draw **** as a stuck light on maby the trunk or glove box and by holding the door switch that allows the interior light to stay lit a piece of tape or just hold the button in and then remove fuse by fuse until the light goes out and then read what that fuse operates and you will find the answer if there is a draw please make sure the battery is charged first though . but i would definitely start there 1 st
please let me know what you discover if anything

If everything works, it might be your starter. The alternator usually fails gradually, and will give weaker and weaker charges. Give your starter a healthy tap and see if it frees up. If so, you will need to replace it. If the ignition engages (you hear a sound like it's trying to start) but it does not start, trace the system from the plugs back

There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes.
You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit.
You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.

Battery Light still on

The new alternator is probably ok.
I would say you burned a fuseable link in the wiring harness.
The alternator has a fuse wire between it and the battery to protect it from overload.
Have someone check the wires coming out of the back of the alternator. The big wire should have battery voltage, the small wires energize the alternator when you start the engine.

Battery being drained and will not run at idle

Battery being drained & won't run? Is it starting fine or do you need jumps to start? Not sure because your explanation was vague but sounds like you may have an alternator problem.

Hi there !

I won't say its an alternator problem because the alternator only charges the battery when its on, And it should start with the jump cables even if the battery and the alternator are bad. your Issue is not clear. Does the car start when you jump it ?

did they run a test on the alternator!! at battery when off should be at least 12.6 volts, less than 12 volts battery is bad. when running at battery voltage should be at least 14.1 to 14.7, thats if alternator is ok. if less than above replace alternator. if alt. is ok, could be a bad battery.

You need a new starter solenoid. It is essentially a heavy duty remote switch that is activated by your ignition key switch. The solenoids get stuck or don't conduct well after 6 to10 years.

BATTERY OVERCHARGED AND ALTERNATOR IS FINE

If you have a fully charged battery when you installed then 14 volts is way to much charge for the battery which would mean that the alternator probably has a faulty regulator and the alternator needs to be changed otherwise you will continue to install new batteries. If the battery was in an uncharged state then it is possible for the alternator to charge at full capacity to charge up the battery.
