Question about 2003 GMC Envoy Xl
I have a 2003 GMC Envoy XL.
Normal 0 The gear stick slides up and down in the column without going into gear, in other words it does not engage drive, reverse, etc. Can any one tell me what the problem might be?
It is quite likely that the linkage cables have come loose. Remove the rubber boot (cover) and visually inspect the 2 cables. If they appear properly connected, check the connection at the gearbox. This might be a simple matter of re-attaching the cables at some point. If not, you should have it inspected be a professional shop, as it is possible that the internal linkage has come apart.
