Thank you for your clarification request. All good questions. It is not at full throttle. It is intermittent both in weather or not it is going to do it at all or the position of the throttle. If it does not happen in the first 10-15 min. of driving it is not going to do it. The temperature both ambient and engine does not seem to matter. The fuel level is usually always at least 1/2 tank or more near full in the tank.

It is intermittent. If it does not occure in the first 10 minutes of driving it is probably not going to happen. The temperature does not matter both ambient and engine. The fuel tank is ususlly 1/2 to full. Sorry if this is a repeat reply.

This is FORD keeping you legal, , Based on your desciption, the further the pedal is pressed, you get nothing more? If this is intermittent, can you tell when it is going ot happen? What is the temprature at the time? When it happens, what is the weather in your area? How long from cold start up? How much fuel, does full or empty have any effect ?

I have a Flat spot around 2000 - 2500 RPM. Does anyone else have this problem or know what it is?

like the first post ever here, that implies Im not in USA< bravo that?> what bravery.....
this is usa forum we dont have UTE's here, LOL. only SUV
that 3.2L was sold here on our Rodeo's too.
i think. if real Isuzu engine. and related.
2wd (RWD)

that engine in 2002 has EFI right,? some cars outside run carbs up to 2006, so..
i cant look in my books, as our cars are not your cars.

EFI flat shots have vast causes.
but here, are some.
  1. bad fuel.
  2. TPS bad, if the flat ends as you accelerate this can be it.
  3. if the flat spot, continues, low fuel pressure can be it.
  4. just needs a tuneup ,ever get on this decade?
  5. dirty MAF sensor if it has one. ours has no MAF,(air leaks if do will cause lean, and bogging if MAF system)
  6. clogged injectors. or leaking.
  7. scan it yet, for DTC errors. that be first.

try new spark plugs yet?//////????? gaped to spec, not guessing?

How do i set the idle on my 1991 Honda Lx so it will pass emissions

should be a idle screw on the throttle body. right next to the accelerator cable. also make sure your cable isn't pulled tight keeping the accelerator opened slightly for a high idle

Flat spot after idle

sounds like a carby problem look down the carby and flick the throttle and you should see fuel squirting down the throat if not it is the accelerator pump in the carby

Engine continues to rev when clutch is depressed to change gear,

Could be faulty cable, dirty throttle body, or a slight vacuum leak.

Flat spot around 2000r/m

Try accelerating at different speeds, for example push pedal further down, or ease into it real slow & let it climb, and see if it still dies at 2000 rpm, just to see if pedal position makes any difference to see if maybe TP sensor has bad spot.

I have a 1991 fox that will start cold and idle all day.it has a slight dead spot when you accelerate, but once you baby it past that point it seems to be fine.but once it warms up and i let it die,it wont...

Control pressure regulator bad or main line pressure relief valve stuck in fuel distributor.. Remove valve install new o-ring and purge bore with carb cleaner (don't get carb cleaner on new oring). If you have checked these things and it still starts hard hot....replace the accumalator back next to the fuel pump.
