Two screws in the top screwed up ward then pry it down just enought to clear the edge to pull it out.wheel tilt down all the way it comes out to the sideun plug the wires by rooling it back just enough to get to the wire locks and unplug the out it comes good luck with the moisture as they don't dry and stay relialable

Yes its just stuck in there . the panel that appears to be part of the trimcomes out and it just snaps in. To the right and left of the steering columm there are pop in panels that pry out then there are screws under the panels. the cover goes clear over to the heater controls and to the left to the end of the dash. A trim tool helps get under and grasp the edges of the trim and pull it towards you once the panel is out you can see the 4 screws that hold the panel in

Start by taking apart the dash one screw at a time around the gauges just remember where they go when you put it back together

Remove dash to access the gauges for cleaning faces

You just have to figure out how to remove everything necessary from the front of the dash, so you can actually get at the gauges.

It's just the trim piece first, plastic clips or screws. Now remember,if you were trying to remove the dash cluster, it would come out just the same way. You just need to get to it, not remove it. t should be pretty easy to figure out. Phillips head and/or 1/4 inch head sockets for screws and small bolts. Some are 5/16ths.

with the battery disconnected, take off the front of the dash behind the steering wheel and reach behind the gauges you will see a wiring harness connected to the cluster gauge just unplug that for a few seconds then plug it back in.

My gas gauge and temp gauge just went out, is that a fuse, and which fuse is it? 1998 Olds Alero is the car

maybe check fuses ...it maybe bad connection behind the speedo clustter..remove cluster and check connection..somtime the grounds get weak...having both go at once indicates a bad cluster if the speedometer is still working , if its not just a bad connections than its cluster...usually you never get 2 sending unit goiing the same time,,but it could be a fuel sending unit and a tempature sensor..but i dont think so...

It can be several things. Te simple one is that the connector behind the cluster is loose. The other is the circut board that makes up the cluster is going bad. Try disconnecting the cluster and re connecting. If this does not work, try replacing it with a sed one from a salvage yard or from ebay.
