I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon. When I tried to

I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon. When I tried to leave this morning, I couldn't put into reverse. I thought it was the safety sensor but then I realized I had no brake lights. I replaced the 15 amp fuse with one I stole from another socket and it worked. However, when I went to purchase a new fuse and I replaced it, something else went screwy. Now the stop lights work but the Power Windows don't work and more importantly, the radiator fans won't turn on, and now the ABS warning light is on. And I still can't shift into reverse (without depressing the manual release). Any help? I assuming some other fuse(s) is/are blown.

Try resetting the computer which involves unhooking the battery for about 15 minutes. if you have an anti-theft radio make sure you know the code and how to enter it.

If the alarm system has a battery remove it otherwise removing the car battery for a while may reset it. In emergency contact your local toyota dealers mechanics department and they may be able to help you at no cost.

We have a 1999 Toyota Avalon with a problem with the driver's electric seat mechanism. It will move in every position except it will not go back (reverse). Any ideas on how we can fix? Thanks.

This is a switch problem for sure. Try to toggle the switch back and forth very hard and mutiple times. If it moves the you are 100% in need of a switch. The switch is farley easy to replace. Dont buy from dealer. Have a junk yard pull one for you

Where is the thermostat on a 1996 Avalon?

follow the upper radiator hose away from the radiator toward the motor and that is where you will usually find the thermostat housing.
