Question about 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit

2 Answers

I own a 1984 GTI fuel injected rabbit and I am experiencing an odd beep every once in a while while I'm driving around. Not sure what it could be, all I know is there is a very loud beep coming from my car that just comes and goes, sounds like a warning and am kind of worried about what it could be.

I'm not certain but it could possibly be radiator coolant level, if it seems to happen more when turning...hope this helps...some cars do have them.

Check the oil and/or pressure. The buzzer is under the steering column. My old girlfriend did this years ago when she drove her 1982 rabbit Convertable for two days with only a quart of oil in it.
No significant damage as the car still runs and drives.

My 1984 Rabbit Convertible runs great, but has a surge in idling and after driving for a short while when going to stop, stalls out?

you are right it is a air leak but either at the intake gasket or tb gasket seeing you replaced the hoses already. spray some carb cleaner around those areas while running and see if idle changes this will pin point the area of trouble. make sure you dont have any spark plug wires arcing out cause this could ignite the carb cleaner.

1984 RABBIT GTI FUEL PUMP KICKS ON AND OFF

You had a missing relay before? To operate the pump you'd jump the perpendicular connections. As for the relay running briefly, that sounds like it could be a worn out ignition switch.

New engine

Is the gas being injected into the cylinders though! Try spraying easy start or the like into the intake, and see if it starts briefly.

1984 volkswagon gti when driving when I turn right the car stalls and quits what makes this happen ? Ihave replaced fuel pump and given it a tune up.

Parts of the car are shifting and causing a loose connection to fail. Get it to fail, stop, and then check for poser at the fuel pump, at the ignition coil (fuel or spark).
