The mechanic should check the codes that is been pulled . if its been pulled correctly or directly and there is a cooling fin of the radiator you have to check the cooling fins because it helps a lot to the radiator to cool the water inside the radiator. If there is no more cooling fins in the radiator then replace them a side from that you have to check the radiator if there is a leak then repair the radiator .The engine oil also have to be checked if it is already dirty you have to replace or change the oil. these also can cause overheating if the oil is dirty . And then you have to check the thermostat if the temperature is already cooling if the thermostat is not functioning then replace it .

2000 grand am gt over heating radiator fans not turning on

Overall Cooling fan operation is managed by the powertrain control module (PCM). Three relays control fan motor operation. In the underhood junction block, the 30A COOL FAN 1 fuse feeds power to (left) fan control relay 1; 15A COOL FAN 2 fuse feeds power to (right) fan control relay 2. The mode control relay determines whether the left fan, the right fan or both fans are turned on. If the two fuses are OK, the problem is a defective fan relay(s) or the PCM

You would need to figure out if it is a cooling problem or something producing extra heat in the engine.
Is the radiator fan pulling enough air thru the condenser and radiator ?
Is the fan coming on and also when the ac is on and when the engine reaches 220 degrees ?
Is it possible the exhaust has a restriction somewhere ?

Have 2000 dodge grand caravan had to replace radiator now neither fan will come on checked 40 amp fuse in box under hood its good any suggestion

make sure the electrical connector is connected properly.there is also a relay that controls the fans.it sounds like the fans were working before the rad was changed so its probably something simple.make sure the cooling system is full of coolant as if its low the sensor that sends the signal to the computer to turn on the relay to turn on the fans may not be getting reading the proper temperature.

Radiator fan will not turn off ever.

the usual culprit is a bad relay. Some cars have 2 or 3 cooling fsan relays, usually under the hood in a fuse/relay box. Look in owner manual for fuse/relay locations and pull the cooling fan relays one at a time & see if it cuts off. That could be the bad one. The engine computer usually controls the fan motor based on input from the coolabnt temp sensor or by when you have the heater controls set on a/c or defrost modes.

Radiator cooling fans will not quit running after engines off

heat sink mounted in front of radiator may be bad. pull the push pins out of the bumper cover when u lift the hood (may have screws) pull forward and look stright down twards the drivers side a bit. it has an aluminum body and is riveted to some metal part of the core support with an electrical connector. make sure the wiring is okay there. check oweners manual for cooling fan relays, locate and try swapping relays and make sure the relays arnt stuck closed.

the cooling fan relay is not in the fuse box.

it is a solid state relay bolted to the radiator core support just behind the bumper

I replaced my radiator cooling fan motors both of them on my Dodge Grand Caravan and i replaced the relay and fuse and coolant temparature sensor and my fans still won't work.

check for battery power at pin 4 of rad fan relay connector..ground at pin 1..jump pins 3 and 4..fans should work..if not, check harness about 3-4 inches away from relay connector..have seen these corrode..if fans work, the engine controller may not be grounding relay..any codes in engine controller?engine light on?

Dodge Caravan is notorious for failure of the electronic cooling fan control module (AKA cooling fan relay). This is not a "relay", it is a solid-state control unit, but many people call it a relay anyway.
It is mounted on the inside of the left frame rail just behind the radiator. You have to look up from UNDER the vehicle to see it. It looks like the picture below. The picture shown is very close to actual size.
