Question about 2000 Chrysler Cirrus
It sounds like your fuel pump got weak.There was just enough pressure in the system to keep the car running ,but once you shut it off it will require more pressure to start the car.So have your fuel pressure checked the proper reading on a gauge should be at least 48psi .:)

Please check that the fuel pump is working well.
It is located in the fuel tank beneath the back seat.
